I not only have massive thick hair but a ton of it and it's very frizzy and curly..can anyone give advice?
I wear my hair in a ponytail all the time cuz the hair is so bulky.Hairdressers freak out when they get their hands on my hair and don't have any real help for me.Love my hair straight but it still seems bulky.Tried almost every kind of shampoo/conditioner.Since I've had children, hair got thicker, curlier and more corse/drier.Please help!

I have the same problem because of a thyroid condition. I was blessed with kinky hair but my thyroid problem has caused my hair to become very coarse.
I do a lot of different things always changing trying new things too:
1. Biosilk Silk Therapy (its a frizz reducer)
2. Try to only wash or get your hair wet 2 times a week.
3. Straighten hair with a ceramic flat iron or curl it with Conair's Instant Heat curling iron. The heat kills the frizz and leaves hair feeling a little smoother.
4. Wash hair before you go to bed. Put it in a ponytail and wrap your ponytail tightly in an ace bandage. The bandage will absorb the moisture overnight and leave your hair smoother and straighter by the morning.
5. I dont recommend having your hair thinned out because it grows back looking thicker. Instead have layers cut in that are about an inch or 2 shorter than the longest length.
6. If all else fails, try a ponytail that is a little fancier, by parting your head on the side, tease a little at the crown to give it some volume (and to make it look like you actually did your hair instead of just putting it in a hairtie) after you put it up wrap a small piece of hair around the elastic and pin it underneath the ponytail.
Good luck, its NOT an easy task, but always try new things.
You can always have hair thinned and layered by a very good stylist
i got the same prob. just go natural, let that crazy hair do it's thing. F everyone else.
I can't help but wonder.are you african-american? Are your hairdressers familiar with that kind of hair? Are you someone who does not want a relaxer? It sounds like you've been blessed with lots of hair. Believe me, you'd rather have it than buy it. You just have to find out how to deal with it. Maybe you should find someone who knows how to handle coarse hair, because if your current hairstylists are shrugging their shoulders at your hair you want someone else to help you anyway. You may want to consider a natural style like twists or braids. Your thick hair will only make it look better. You can try using some detanglers and oils like tea tree, jojoba, or olive oil on your hair. But for professional advice, you can look around online, too.
(have you tried Cream of Nature detangling shampoo?)

my hair is thick too so when i go to the barbers i have my hair thinned out with some special scissors. i dont no if women have that done tho.
You could try having it chemically straightened and thinned out. Really any decent hairdresser will be able to help and advise you. I would save up and go to a really decent hairdressers. They may be more expensive but a good hairdresser is worth their weight in gold.
get your hair thinned and layered. then buy hair serum to put on it while it dries.. then get a good jel and apply that to control the curls
hope this helps
Go to a good hair salon,if the person is a good hairstylist they'll know what to do,to take out the bulkiness stylists have special scissors for that, what those scissors do is they have like little teeth and it cuts some hair out and it leaves other hair long,it really helps take the bulkiness away.
shave it off :)
I know how you feel. Mine is exactly the same! Have it thinned. Also, try kerastase intensive masque. Works a treat!
have permanent relaxing, and ask the hairdresser to thin it out A LOT next time you get it cut.
