Thoughts on men wearing jewellery?

What are your thoughts on young guys in their twenties who wear jewellery? I've always really fancied the idea of wearing a necklace (e.g. silver chain), couple of rings and a bracelet - but never have had the confidence to do so, mainly because (1) I don't think I'd be able to put it off (2) I am quite a quiet guy so maybe wouldn't suit my personality or (3) my friends and family would think it looked a bit odd and random all of a sudden. What should I do? I have never been given jewellery as a present but I don't want to ask for it! How can I introduce myself to it gradually?

Answers:
Don't! You'll look a real fairy
Less is more in my opinion
hello. since you said you are a quiet sorta guy - actually you remind me of my brother. he wears a silver chained necklace and nothing more. perhaps you can start off with that. nothing too rapper bling!
I think a semi thick chain is ok, as is a watch but bracelets may look a bit feminine.
i dont really like men who wear jewlweey personally, but in saying that my other half wear a bit of a jewwllery and it really does suit him. i say jsut wear one at a time and see what ppl say and how u feel ureself. hope this helps x
i think men can wear it if they wish it's their body , if you start wearing it and show your love for it people will get more for you..
My bf wears a chain and bracelet. It was who he was when I met him. never thought twice about it. I now know that he wears them bc they were from his dad right before he died.

nothing wrong with a guy who wears jewelery
My b/f wears 2 earings(in 1 ear). He wears a gold hoop. He also has LOADS of big chains, bracelets and rings. He sometimes wears them, but peronally I think less is more. Plus if you are quite quiet, you may be a target to get mugged(this happens a lot). Your family might like the idea, because it's a great xmas gift idea.
i think it's fine. start with an ear-ring and see where it takes you. after all, you may think it doesn't look right
Im a jeweller and ın my opınıon jewellery looks terrıble on men - only a weddıng band and a nıce watch ıs acceptable
i think you should do whatever you like, who cares what other people think.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with guys wearing jewellery! You could start with the silver chain and then maybe get a bracelet to match. The rings sound good too. Don't worry about what your friends and family think, as long as you feel comfortable that's all that matters!
i personally wouldn't wear much. a nice watch and maybe a ring is the limit. chains and gold jewellary looks awful
Personally, I have never worn jewellery other than a watch.
I have always thought that jewellery on men is nothing more than a display of wealth. The problem is, unless you have great wealth, jewellery either looks brassy or a bit girlie.
I am not one for jewelry on men. Big thick silver necklaces with fake bling is not impressive at all. Even if it is real, I think that it is overkill. If you are wanting to wear jewelry though start with something simple. If you are religious start with something like a nice cross, or crucifix, or whatever. Something very modest. I find myself strangely attracted to men who show their spirituality in this way.
Or, in lieu of jewelry, buy yourself a nice wrist watch. Nautical style is the best for men.
Rings, I would definitely stay away from, unless you are married of course. And I would really think twice, about wearing bracelets.
But really just do/ wear whatever you feel you will like and be comfortable in. That is the key to pulling anything that is fashionable off. Comfort and confidence.
dont worry what others think if you like it then go for it ive got a watch two rings two necklaces its what i like sod what anyone else has to say i mean 1 ring is a wedding band 1 is a welsh ring 1 necklace is a thick chain one a thin one with a dragon on i feel comfortable and dont think its over the top so go for it son im too old to have a earing did when i was younger but if your young enough then why not
dont wear it all at once, unless your gay or a chav. silver is much better in my opinion. and have good taste when your wearing jewellery, dont wear shite...
Unless the jewellery you are given is a wedding ring, then I'd steer clear. Otherwise, it looks fairly awful.

Just my personal opinion though.
Don't. Unless it is a wedding ring, and even then.
i wouldnt say that going the whole hog is neseccary, my boyfriend wears a gold curb necklace and i find it rather sexy, when i catch a glimpse of it under his shirt collar, i dont likesilver myself so i wouldnt reccommened wearing silver, gold is always nice, but dont go for rings, i dont see the point on a man unless he is married, or it has sentimental value, ( my boyfriend wears his mums wedding ring on his little finger and thats very sexy)

i reccommend that you start with a chain of some sort, not too big and see how it looks then carry on with how you feel, it doesnt matter what your friends think it how you feel chicken
there is nothing wrong with it if you don't over do it. A chain, and a thick bracelet is OK. I wouldn't go over board with the rings though. ! would be enough. try a chain first, then go with ch br,then wait awhile before you do the ring
I'm a grandmom and I think jewelry can look good on men of any age provided it's done in good taste. Perhaps you might want to look around and see what other men your age are wearing that's not too ostentatious. What about starting out with something like one of those leather and bead bracelets or necklaces that have a craft like appearance and see what the reaction is. If you feel comfortable with it, then maybe graduate to a good quality gold or silver rope chain. Have some fun and do what makes you feel good about your appearance.
the best looking man who wore jewellery was
.TUPAC SHAKAR (the rapper)

i think that quiet guys look a lot better with jewellery cause they ain't loud and look very dangerous but smart you're peeps will get use to it.

just don't over do it babe
and you'll look great
Rings or a chain- yes
Bracelt- a little girly

By the way dog tags on a guy look really cool. That's the best way to go in my opinion.
Wedding ring, definitely. Other rings ok. small necklace ok. No bracelets. one small earring ok. Watch ok. The more jewelry he wears, the better he should smell i.e. cologne
I would say start of with the silver chain bcos i feel that its quite masculine and there is nothing wrong with guys wearing jewellery. I think men look better wearing silver however. But that'll be down to u if u wanna wear gold or silver
I don't like it..i also think it's an invitation to get robbed. i only wear small earrings myself but my bf never wears jewellery
Maybe try a subtle chain but don't wear too much because it is easily overdone.
I like it!! Jewelry is sexy and it shows that you have confidence. I think you should definitely go for it!! Start with a bracelet or cuff.something manly and funky!

Davd Beckham wears jewelry and he is super hot!!

why not i think men look nice in a bit of jewellery and I'm 62 my husband wears some and he is 60 so i say don't over do it
My father was a very, very quiet man. However, he wore the following jewelry:

wedding ring (at a time when they were not popular)

university class ring

watch (Dad had an Omega)

medic alert bracelet (not your average run of the mill type -- Mum bought him a VERY nice, simple, masculine, heavy ID bracelet and had his information inscribed on the back, the alert symbol and his initials on the front).

That's it. More than that and I think you're crossing into that unbuttoned shirt/disco look. Ick.
