you shouldnt be worrying about being over weight yet. your 12 which means your body is going to start going through a bunch of changes and girls tend to gain weight for this which is completely normal

by the charts yeah. for 5' you are over weight.

Technically you are a bit overweight. Make sure you are exercising daily and eating well.

u r but girls have to be slim and also to be healthy, even if u attend Ur puberty age.

You still have a little "baby fat" because you are going through puberty. Don't freak out about it. You're body will continue to change in the next few years.
You're only 12 yrs old, don't worry too much just try to eat a lot of fruit and your vegies stay away from the greesy food and exercise a lot during your breaks during school hours. Make sure you get out on the weekends and walk the dog or go for a bike ride. If you keep yourself busy you won't eat as much because you are bored. Also you didn't mention if you are a boy or girl. If you are a girl all of the above applies but if you are a boy you will have growth spurts and (should) thin out over time
You are 12, you do not need to be sweating a couple of pounds at your age. If you want this to not be a problem, then stay physically active. Play, do sports, do some regular exercises, go jogging, skip rope (great exercise!) Mix it up and do different stuff, just don't spend your life in front of a computer or a TV set or on the phone yakking to your little chums. Drink water not soda, get proper nutrition, eat foods that are healthy and stay away from junk foods. The pounds will then take care of themselves.

You cannot go by what some chart says, there are all sorts of charts and they do not all agree on what your height and weight proportions should be. Be healthy. That is the important thing.

Hey Gracie.I completely agree with what some people have already posted. You are only 12 years old. At this time in your life your body is going through many changes and you could temporarily gain some weight. All you have to do is make sure you are eating healthy and getting enough exercise ( just playing sports should be fine). You should not become overly preoccupied with your weight at this age. You are at a prime age for developing eating disorders in particular anorexia. A preoccupation with your body and not knowing how to lose weight healthfully will only put you more at risk. So my best advice to you if you really feel like your overweight is to get active and ask your mom or dad (or whomever you live with) to help you eat more healthfully (think lots of veggies and fruits and natural foods) Good luck:)
I say enjoy your puppy fat while you're young and have that legitimate excuse to hide behind! Seriously though, you have your whole life ahead of you to be cautious about your weight, don't stress about it now while you're young, trust me.

I'm 23 and I never paid any attention to my figure during my adolescent years and I am glad because that was a time for me when I could just be kid, eat junk and not worry about the consequences of it! Obviously now I don't take that view and I try to stay slim but I sure didn't worry about when I was 12!

You can be very fit and weigh 120ibs.

I'm only 5ft 2 and weigh 137ibs, however am very fit, and love running. On the BMI scale, I border the ok-to overweight, however have had a fat/muscle ratio test done which showed I have more muscle than fat, so the BMI thing still wasn't that accurate.

remember, muscle weighs more than fat, and at 5ft 0. 120ibs is fine.

If you feel fine in yourself, then don't let anyone else tell you different. !! :))

eat well and try to exercise at least 30 munits a day sometimes when ur body is developing it will get read of the body fat but sometimes it doesnt u grow with it and that is when it becomes a problem
