What can i do to keep my hair holiday blonde?
After going to Africa for 2 weeks my hair has turned a lovely blonde colour, and i dont want it to fade! What can i do that doesnt involve colouring my hair (i've had bad experiances with highlights in the past!).
Answers:
lemon juice or sun-in which is a mild peroxide spray that's sold in most chemists. You just spray it to damp hair and either bloew dry it or let it dry naturally in the sun it's a better option if you don't want to bleach it.
mmmmm unclip it, put it in a pillowcase so it does`nt tangle up, then put it in your washing machine on a 90` wash cycle.. simple innit?
Use a color safe shampoo and conditioner.
bleach
Move to Africa
just go back to the salon. go to a differnt one. or get a box color.
don't go swimming because chlorine bleaches hair.
Lemon juice. then go out in the sun this will keep the sunstreaked look. I lived in South Africa for most of my life and we did that when we were at school.
Try putting lemon juice on a few top sections of your hair and going out into the sun afterwards-the lemon gently lightens your hair as it dries, but you will need to wash and conditioner your hair afterwards. Failing that, you could try buying some hydrogen peroxide from a chemist and put streaks of it in your hair, again, wash it out after.
Just stay on holiday
if you got it to go blonde naturally, then it is a natural hair color for you.
natural occurring chemicals in your hair will change the color when exposed.
there are shampoos,..conditioners,.and other hair products to keep it.
my hair does the same thing.
but don't be surprised when it goes away when summer goes away.
Hair Color Maintenance
Chemically treated hair has special needs. To avoid fading, use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for color treated hair.
Baby shampoo is extra gentle and helps retain color.
Wash your hair no more often than every other day, in tepid water, to retain your vibrant color.
Wear a hat if you're going to be in the sun for any length of time. Sunlight exposure will fade your perfect color rapidly.
Stay on holiday of course!
If it lightened with the sun then that's what you need to do. However, I doubt if you will be able to be out in the sun as much now that you are back to the daily grind.
Personally, I would go to my stylist NOW and have them match the exact color with their product. Have them (and you) keep a record on what the match is so that when you are ready you will know exactly what product to use.
Also, I would take a photo of the amt. & size of the highlights that are in your hair now so that you can provide your colorist with some idea of the amt. and size of the highlights you want.
