I have a pair of blue jeans with embroidered back pockets. The jeans are faded down the middle of the front?
I was wondering is there any way of dyeing the jeans to an overall blue (so I don't have the fading) without ruining the embroidered back pockets?
Answers:
have a couple of ideas, but they are not tested so you can take them for what they are, theories.
1) Can you remove the pockets (by picking the thread NOT cutting them off) and them sew them back on after the jeans are dyed? This is also good because the inside of the pocket will be an indication of the original shade of blue the jeans had and perhaps the shade you want to go for.
2) Could you line the inside of the jeans with plastic or a whole lot of paper where the embroidery is then "paint" the front of the jeans with the dye using a paintbrush?
3) Could you learn to like the faded look?
I will update with more ideas before this closes if I think of any.
Good luck, hope this helps.
Depends on what the pocket stiching is done with. If the thread is not a natural material then it won't take the dye like the jeans will. I found this out the hard way when I wanted the item to take the colour overall. The worst thing that will happen if you dye it, is that the pocket stiching will be more tonal with the colour of the jeans.
Don't do it yourself. Ask someone professional.
I'm not sure if dyeing the jeans is the way to go. If you can find a similar pair of jeans then perhaps transferring the embroidered pockets would be a better option!
You can by dye from the supermarket or a major material and craft store. This dye you put into the washing machine and throw in what it is you want to dye. Once the machine is finished, the dye that you put in is completely gone so it won't leave any left over colour on your next load. It's gentle on all materials and I doubt that it would ruin the embroidery on the back pockets.
But before you buy, always read the directions on the label and what they will or won't do.
Why don't you want the fading?
I don't think you can unless you spray paint it- but even then it will run in the wash.
Better buy a new pair of jeans.instead of ruining the ones u got.
the denim jeans are so that whichever you use it gets faded
so dont worry it will get faded after you dye it again and again.
But i will suggest you one thing dont dye it just wear as it is.
no matter its today's fashion and style and it also depends in which city you live.
