Highlights turning green?

hi im goin swimming soon and have blonde highlights in my hair, am worried about them turning green.any advice on how to stop it going green?thanks

Answers:
A swimming cap. But you can just go swimming, and if it DOES happen, there are shampoos you can buy that get rid of the green tinge.
THAT'S ENVY
If they turn green like mine does you get a certain kind of shampoo if the one you have doesnt work
I have a pool and many woman who swim here have that problem. Try wetting your hair in the shower first with regular water. This works for them
buy a shampoo called silver you get it in chemists it helps highlights stay blonde that should work
ur must of been in some type of cholrene..wear a haircap.
itll happen.

dont go swimming.
you can get shampoos and conditioners that protect as well as take out the greenish look out of blonde hair. There are loads on the market.
If you JUST had them put in, I wouldn't, but if you've had them for more than a couple of weeks it should be fine.

I don't think that's much of a problem these days. Although I've been red for about 10 years. But my mom has very light highlights, and she's never had any problem in a pool.
tomato ketchup
redken has this stuff that you spray on your hair that protects it from the pool water.you can buy it at hair salons and be sure to read the instructions because i think you have to put it in a certain amount of minutes beofre you go swimming. its worked really well for me, i used it all last summer when i got highlights.
Hi, you can buy something that you use to cover your hair, its agel look in boots for it
get purple shampoo!
I have been told if it does turn green then use tomato sauce. Don't know if it's true but in a desperate situation anything is worth a try! Or wear a swimming hat.
Ultra Swim or John Frieda's Sheer Blonde. Use these before and after you go swimming.
I have highlights in my hair too, but they are red and chestnut, and when I swim they go blonde. I swim 4 times a week. I prefer the darker shades, but what can you do? At least they don't turn green!
I wear a swimming cap (it is mandatory at our pool) and shower with warm water before and after swimming, but all the colour in my tinted hair does get bleached out .
So? If no-one comes up with the perfect answer, you could always try highlighting your hair with a reddish tint in future, and after you swim you will get blonde highlights!
Doesn't help you right now, I know, and I am watch-listing this question in the hope I can learn something too!
Good Luck!
it shouldn't turn green, but if so speak to your stylist cos when i worked in a salon we used this blue shampoo which kept blonde nice and bright.
