I saw the funniest thing when I went to buy a kebab once, there's a beauty parlour next to the kebab shop and this woman stepped out and went to get into her Merc, she had the brightest, yellowest fake blonde hair I have ever seen coupled with a super bright orange tan . !!! How I laughed my *** off at that! And she was getting a lot of attention from the guys, then again, looking like a glow worm I am not surprised.
She had a nice face and a nice figure so she didn't need all that fake stuff but I suppose she likes the way she looks so that's all that matters isn't it?
HATE fake tan, it's artificial, it's orange, it's cr*p.
they are fraid to be seen outside
afraid of cancer
Does my tan look fake to you?
well i used a fake tan sometimes
because i couldnt get a real tan =)
it's very hard and almost impossible for me to get a real tan without suffering badly
In australia, sun cancer is a major cause of death so we are very conscious about not baking ourselves in the sun like we used to about 15 years ago.
Tanning products are huge sellers here - but I'm afraid you're right, some of them do have a terrible orange tint. Most people know which ones are good though and steer clear of the dodgier cheaper ones on the market.
I know what you mean - when I was in the UK, I noticed this highly uncool look too - one por guy had a bright orange face, complimented by orange hands
Nobody wants to be milk bottle white and fake tan is less risky than those mean old UV rays!!
Tan is "in". I haven't worked out why. Some people have difficulty getting a tan, hence they need assistance.
LOL. It's because the ozone is depleting and younger and younger people are getting skin cancer, so no one wants to tan.
Besides, if you are over 20, you realize that sun damage makes your skin leathery and ugly and you wrinkle before your time.
So, they keep trying self-tanners, but they turn orange instead.
Am one of those -- guilty as charged -- but it IS possible to get a non-orange sunless tan. You just don't notice those, because they are not orange! After much experimentation, i've found one that doesn't turn ME orange.
Camouflage
Cause they wanna be dark and beautiful like us black folks!
They are wanting to look healthy but can't find one that DOESN'T go orange. They can't afford a holiday in the sun. They are those people who go bright red, blister, peel and go back to white!!
yeah nothing compares to a natural tan other than SKIN CANCER
I'd prefer to be an orange tint than have the sun ruin my skin like premeture ageing, age spots, wrinkles and then chance of getting the big C from over exposure to the sun but then that is a personnel choice
its pretty damn hard to resist the constant barrage of crazily thin, tanned celebrities, models etc, especially for teenage girls who are insecure already. only problem is, those celebs etc have hundreds of pounds and personal assistants to do their tanning for them.if you only got a tenner then orange might be the best you can get!
however, i agree.i do not use fake tan or attempt to go brown because i just end up looking like a lobster, almost as bad as the orange radioactive look you speak of.
well i don't put all that crap on,i like a natural tan myself, when i see people with fake tan on i say to myself they are fake there self
your right nothing can be compared to a natural tan
and about using the fake tan well:
some wana party all night sleep all day and show that they went to the beach
others are just afraid of being under the sun because health concerns but in the same time they dont know how much this is worse
another type of people have no time but they want the color
actually the list can go on and on but these are just some i met
I sooo agree :)
What is worse is people actually think they do not look orange LOL
well i think that it is the media fault nobody likes being the way they are. everybody want to look like a movie star. thats way there is a lot of muscle freeks out there. they want to look better to impress that person but who wants a person that cant wipe there own ***. because of being to big
I think people use fake tan for a few reasons. One, everywhere you look, you're bombarded by images of tanned lean bodies. And now, products are claiming to look more and more natural when in actuality, they're not. But people believe advertisement and they tell them they look great, and I honestly believe, that they don't think they look bad. Another reason, maybe they want to avoid the sun and other UV exposure, because it is really bad for you, but still would like to look tanned. I think they would rather look orange than pale. Whatever the reason, I think It's a personal preference, but I definately agree, the orange radioactive look is NEVER in.
because when they try an tan in the sun they turn red ..and if they stay any longer they'll get cancer..
I blame David Dickinson from Bargain Hunt !
Hello, how are you. Maybe they just don't want to spend the time getting a natural tan so they just figure the stuff in the bottle is easier. Besides, some people with fair skin can't tan that easily. I hope this answers your question.
Some use it to even out their existing tan.
Kinda rediculous to use something to look unnaturally tanned - sunscreen works fine if paranoid about skin cancer!
many people have skin that can't tan-usually of English, Irish or Scottish descent when they go in the sun they freckle or get really red. They probably think they look good(orange). I would rather just stay white.
not all fake tans make you go orange, there are moisturiser with a little self tan in it and it doesn't go streaky or orange.
you right there, i love nothing more then a natural tan, but unfortunately you have to be in the sunshine to get, if we do get sunny days what with working shifts and living in a flat it not always possible to be outside long enough. i only have two weeks a year on a sunny holiday in august, love it. cant wait till then, hence my fake tan. don't think i look radioactive..thank. and love my colour.
Because its safer to fake it than to give yourself skin cancer by too much sun exposure.
Because they're BRITISH! (we don't get enough sun to be able to get tanned here).
yes alot of fake tans look stupid. i prefer to be just the way i am. ppl that r dark want to be white and visa versa silly isnt it??
to me, i think da reason y is because they only wan to b noticed n they also wana fit into da "it" category. natural tan is a better way of bein "it". fakin it wont b such a good idea bcoz fake tans always fade n if it isnt applied properly they'll b goin out lookin like a clown n most definately bein a center of attention like they wan it.
Because fake tan is much safer than a normal tan, and the signs of age wont appear as quickly!
Plus, you say this happened in England where getting a tan is not that common unless you go abroad.
Some people do go a tad overboard, though, I agree
If you've had spots lasered off your skin you would know why. If you had seen your father-in-law die from skin cancer, you would know why.
There are new products that has a "hint of tan" in them and they are way better than the old stuff.
Thanks for asking the question.
