Are male hairdressers better than female?
When you consider the famous ones like John Frieda, Nicky Clarke and Vidal Sassoon, are men really better than woman in this profession? I can't think of a famous female hairdresser off the top of my head.
I'm not suggesting female hairdressers aren't good by the way.

Shave off your locks and be free. How much does a haircut cost nowadays? Buy some clippers for 40 dollars/euros/pounds, and be independent.

It depends on your age and hair situation. Men seem more creative, and normally do what women want, some women hair dressers have the ilk to do what they want to your hair.

I think it depends on how much experience they have. But, I kind of agree. My hairdresser's a guy and he's the best.

i would say yes cause a male knows how to make a woman look good .. has i feel some females can be bitchy and make a mess of your hair i always go to a male hairdresser and he always does a good job.x.x
Female,the girl who cuts mine is a big girl (weight)but shes so gentle and I've fallen asleep.

gender doesn't matter, but I have a guy who does my chemicals and clipping and a lady do my wash and set.
It's not difficult to get my haircut right, a no. 1 all over, so I've not really noticed the difference in quality. I do prefer female hairdressers though. but I am a bloke.
Basically the famous male hair dressers are famous because they've got charisma.
Take Nicky Clarke, he's a bit OTT.
Beverly whats-her-face (she did head n shoulders adverts) - shes famous.
Men also "gush" a bit more over their clients. By that i mean, the gay ones are very like "dahling" and, well girls who have gay friends no what i mean!
The straight ones give you lots of compliments and make you feel better about yourself.
When they are explaining hair or actually doing the hair, they overexaggerate everything, and sound more confident about it all.
so i dont think they are better, its down to the way they act and put themselves across

Lolz I agree especially in London it’s just much easier to find a better male hairdresser then a female one..i mean they just know what they’re doing and can cut hair like there’s no tomorrow..:)…I always go to the same guy and he’s just great..
I once had a guy hairdresser. I asked him for one kind of haircut, he gave me another. Personally, I've had better results when girls cut my hair.

i can name two you have barbara daily , then you have debbie marshall she is famous for hair extentions and has done the hair of many celebs including jonny depp , kate winslet , jennifer elliston and many more .

but to answer your qestion a gay salon owner will pay more attention to a guy when there learing how to become a hairdresser ( no affence ) and not to the gals who are doing the training so therfore the guys get that a bit more advanced than the gals ( but dependind on the salon some treat guysand girls the same ) me and my sister were trained by a gay guy 10 years on we own 3 hairdressing salons and a bardber shop .so it depends on the client ther selfs on who that get use to and trust to do the hair but for me its defenly a woman mt sister to cut mine.
