I have a pair of light tan boots, that in one wearing got black scuff marks on them - how do I remove these?
Answers:
Whatever you try, try it in an inconspicuous spot first. Some things will remove the black marks but they will also remove the finish. Here are some household things you might try - Mr. Clean type bleach sponge, rubbing alcohol, toothpaste, nail polish remover, Fantastik, 409, Brillo pads, mineral spirits (paint thinner), dishwasher detergent. Good luck!
go to a shoe store a pick a shoe polish the same colour as ur boots
eucalyptis oil
If you can find carbontetrachloride anywhere if wil do the job
take them back to the shop i wouldnt want to pay good money for anything that is ruined after wearing them once
the tiniest bit of vodka on a cotton wool ball. DONT SCRUB TOO HARD!
u can use thinner widout giving a second thot.
Try using a pencil eraser, or (strangely) a piece of white bread. This has worked for me before and doesn't mark the shoe. good luck!
try flash erasers they work for scuff marks on every thing else!
Saddle soap will definitely work and won't hurt the leather. Instead of following the instructions fro cleaning bridles etc though, just put it on generously with a dry cloth and the marks will just rub away.
