Subsidised Ladders for Midgets & Dwarves??
Do you think that small people including Dwarves and Midgets and other people who are of diminished height should be allowed government grants to buy and maintain a ladder or small steps so they can be seen at shop counters, bars etc.?

Funny you should ask. I caught an episode of this show called "Little People, Big World" (I think) a couple nights ago. It was about this family of dwarfs and their day-to-day lives. The husband dwarf comes home from work at one point and the wife dwarf wastes no time informing him that the smoke detector in one of their dwarf children's room was beeping and that he needed to get on a ladder and change it right away. (Immediately I'm thinking, THIS is going to be GREAT!) So the husband dwarf heads to the closet, whips out one of those ladders that folds up and can be set in different positions and at varying heights (even folded all the way down the thing was still taller than him). He wrestles this ladder into position like a pro, and then climbs right up and changes the battery in the smoke detector like anyone else would.
I'd imagine a ladder of that sort would almost be an essential for the vertically challenged. There is subsidized housing for the poor, free birth control for the uninsured, free food products for the low income mothers, why not ladders for the short?!?!

I think that this is a tip top idea, being short of stature, i often have problems in reaching high up things. You should stand for prime minister. I would vote for you!
Ummm.they do get money to do with as they please ,I just don't think ladders and steps are on their list of priorities!
