I would do it for Halloween. That would really put a fun twist on the typical dress party. (There would have to be a strict dress code though, like only Elizabethan wear, or something like that.)
Disney Characters or Cartoon Characters
The Titanic ! it would be great ! Ladies in Old time dresses and Men in old time suit. love to see what people would come up with :) !
the recreation of Cinderella's ball. everyone has to have a partner. you're cinderella, remember!
easy. I would have a "black tie event".. I did that before. My guest came all done up. I had on a black tie. (note, I never once said anything about anything else.)

Soap Opera Theme where everybody has to go dressed up as a character from Coronation Street or Enders.
Horror Movies.. We did one a few weeks ago .. ( See my pic ).OK its Not me but i went as Jig Saw. Wife , The Grim Reaper ( Not much make-up needed ..lol ) Kids as Murder Victims.!! ( Very Bloody ) .. My best mate came as Jason , As he is 6 foot9 inch tall and 21 stone .. he looked very good with a Blood stained Machete..Ski mask ..etc.

Have a 'P' party, everyone has to dress up as something begining with the letter 'P'. You can have, Priests, pimps, p0stitutes, posers, policeman/woman, postman etc.

DONT have a theme..it would look so cool..all the random outfits..i think its great..if you want a theme choose it to be animals so you turn up in a nice outfit and they all look like muppets =P

i went to a friends party and his name began with g so everyone had to dress up as something begining with g!i was a geisha,there were gypsys,angel gabriell,a gynacologist and even a gnat!

Well if it was my party I would go for it really big.
make a list of countires from the alphabet literally a-z (its a challenge but can be done)
Then dress your venue in the country that you pick blindly from the list.
Have music food and drinks and all guests must partake as well.
This is a really challenging one but great fun you can nominate friends to find the drinks one for the music and one for the food another can be in charge of costumes.
