I want to get a baby girl's ears pierced - I live in London and would like to get sleepers put in?
Would like to go to a jewellers rather than Claires Accessories. The use of sleepers rather than studs - as when I had my daughter's ears pierced and put studs in her ears. They were pushed into the skin and it was not pleasant.

Why not allow your daughter to make the decision about getting her ears pierced when she turns about 13 or 16? One of the most fun experiences a young teen can have is getting her ears pierced. Don't take that experience away from her.

Don't do it to a baby. Its cruel. Wait till she's about 6 or 7.
But if you really can't wait and you feel the need to peirce your babies skin, don't go to claires. I think they have an age limit anyway. The way peircers do it is with a Stud Gun so I don't know how you are going to get sleepers put in.
Perhaps a tattoo artist would be able to do the other type? Sleepers.
Dont do it - what cruellty. Why inflict pain upon your baby and they wont want earings!! They are dangerous and could get caught and rip her ears - why dont you wait till she is older and let her have the excitment of having it done when she is old enough to apprechiate it?? !
Please don't have your baby's ears pierced. Let her make her own decision when she is a bit older.

My sister wanted her ears pieced so my Mum and Dad took her too the jewellers to have it done.. she had the first ear done and ran screaming from the room.. I as her older sister was told to get mine done and show her how to behave! I enjoy wearing earrings now..but it would have been nice to have made the decision myself!
Nowhere will put sleepers in the best thing to do is get her ears pierced and change them to sleepers after a few days. When your daughter had her ears pierced they backs were probably on to tight just loosen them off i do suggest the use of studs if your daughter is young. Good luck
They do tend to get pushed in, I would worry about them getting caught on clothing or in play. My daughter had hers done when she was 8. The risk of infection must be high for a baby and I wouldn't risk it. Talk to your health visitor.
Some cultures seem to pierce ears at birth, why not ask someone you see in the street where they had it done and then assess whether you think that is 'safe' or not.

Child abuse. Would you think it was OK for someone to pierce a baby's nose, tongue, cheek or to stick a needle in them for your vanity? Absolutely horrible. To even comtemplate this means you are a suspect parent.

Just 2 min ago my ex called asking me were I put the earring my 2yr old ripped out of her ear last week after one day, as she wants to have it re done. I asked her not to do it months back but she still did it. Believing that she is hurting me. No child should have any holes put into there bodies until they know and understand the responsibility of it. anyway most schools don't allow boys/girls to keep them in.
My nice did her ears and lumps the size of plumbs grew on them, this later turned to cancer. she is fine now but has ugly disfigured ear lobs
I myself have both ears, eye brow and belly done, But it was my choice.
Failing to here the message above any jewellery warn should be real gold or silver or surgical steel this cuts down the risk of infection or a reaction to cheap metal . I hope the baby looks good on you with her new earrings, When is she getting her 1st tattoo or has she one already.
Why not wait until she can decide she wants it done herself, My mum had my ears pierced when I was a baby and I have always hated them so as soon as I left home I was able to take them out. I have heard having your ears done really hurt don't do this to your daughter! I also have a little girl who is 20 months and I wouldn't dream of having her ears done. Its their body let them choose it they want holes put in them or not!

i think as you can see by everyones answer that you are selfish and you want to do that to your baby for your own reasons .. if you think your baby wants ear rings then why not let her get a tatoo or her belly peirced or some other stupid thing.. why do all you young mums do so much damage to your kids when they are young .. let the kids decide what they want to do themselves when they are of an age to do so and you should GROW UP to

As a 'present' for my 5th Birthday I got my ears peirced, I walked out of the jewellers screaming at the top of my lungs and dwon the highstreet "You MADE me do it!" to my mums embarrasment . I had my ears peirced again in Claires when I was 14 and it didnt even hurt!, I blame the shock of the first time wait until shes older and can make up her own mind. No doubt she will I only know one person that hasn't got there ears peirced. Claires were actually good although a lot of people knock them.
