How can I get rid of the smell of sweat from my clothes around armpits?
I tried to wash my clothes several times but the odour still stays. I can't wear my blouses again. Does anybody can help me?
Answers:
1) have a bath, water is your friend
2) use some sort of roll on
3) maybe you have a gland problem, try medical advice
wear deoderant?
Wear deoderant. Seriously.
Borax.
wash at 60 degrees with biological washing powder
You could try lenor stay fresh conditioner.
Also do a pre wash first.
Hi,, Anna,,, try taking some Zinc. it will help with the body odor.. also soak the clothes in liquid soap or use Shout to get out the oil.
good luck
try using different washing detergents, or maybe deodorant's. Or don't wear the same tops for more than 1 day at a time that usually helps!
or
wear someone elses clothes
I use Arm and Hammer laundry detergent. I believe it has baking soda in it because I never have a problem with the scent of sweat remaining in my clothes after I wash them.
Use Biological liquid/tablets.
wash them in water? add detergent? add conditioner? use pit spray? take a bath / shower? use soap? rinse throughly? use one of those natural salt rocks that reduce body odours?
if you tried all of them and still failed, I think you'll just have to get used to sticking a couple of corks up your nose.
Deodorant and body spray
Try washing yourself more than once a month
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO SHALLOW? LEAVE HER ALONE IT DOESNT MAKE HER DIRTY OR UN-CLEAN AT ALL.
wash them at a higher temp & use a bit more washing powder..or try soaking them over-night in hot soapy water first x x
Sounds to me like you have a odour problem.
Either that or your just plain old smelly.
May be if you didn't wear a top at all that might help....
try to spray laundry stain remover on the spot and wash it in cold water a couple of times before drying it. cold water will rarely damages clothes.
When you wash your clothes try using conditioner/softener too (it really does make a difference on the smell front and the nice smell lasts quite a while too) try Lenor or Comfort. If you are line drying them great, if not try using bounce tumble dyer sheets. When you iron your clothes use Comfort Vaporesse (scented ironing stuff) in your iron. You can use scented drawer liners or scented things in your wardrobe too.
Prevention may be better than cure so use an antiperspirant deodorant and shower every morning. Howevre, in the hot weather we had it was probably impossible to stay sweat free!
I'm sure a combination of the following will help that problem:
1) Shower at least once or twice a week (I'm not saying you don't shower, just that showering too much can dry out your skin from natural oils that you need).
2) Wear deodorant, reapply it a couple times a day if needed.
3) use bleach when you wash your clothes, a bleach alternative, or color safe bleach as it applies to the apparel concerned. Woolite may help.
Make sure your deodorant is anti-perspirant. Those that are not will still allow you to sweat and that can often make any smell worse.
Use biological washing powder/tablets/liquid - the enzymes in the power will breakdown the smell causing substances in your blouses. But don't wash clothes with bio on a high heat (60 degrees or above). The heat stops the enzymes from working.
always wear deodorant
SOME PEOPLE AS SO BLOODY RUDE THIS PERSON IS ASKING FOR SOME TIPS NOT ABUSE!! - firstly try soaking them before you wash them. Or try rubbing some neat washing liquid into the patches before you wash your clothes. As for deoderant - if you go to the Boots there is this deoderant which is about £7 and you uses it ever evening and it stops you from sweating, its marvellous and really works well. Good luck hun.
Have you tried washing the clothes in the regular way just add a little eucalyptus oil to the wash then just use common sense hygene use a deodorant
if its a white blouse, wash it on a higher temperature. if its a coloured one buy some of that vanish stuff and rub it in under the offending area. perhaps maybe use a stronger deoderant.have you tried a deo called mitchum?
There are several products on the market. Sweat is a mixture of salts and oils on the skin that attract bacteria. It is the bacterial action that generates the odour. Firstly check what type of material your going to treat against the recommendations on the packets.
Products that have oxygenated powers are a good place to start. Use the liquid version neat on the material and leave for 30 mins before washing as normal.
Alternatively try one tablespoon of white vinegar and half a cup of water, soak for 30 mins before laundering in a cool wash.
If that doesn't work, try making a paste of a tablespoon of cream of tartar and 3 crushed full power aspirin tablets (ensuring the tablets are white with no sugar coating) and a cup of warm water. Use an old toothbrush to work the paste into the fabric and leave for 20 mins, rinse the fabric in warm water. Repeat as necessary.
Personal hygiene does come into it too, I'm afraid. Wash regularly and use a product that is an ANTIPERSPIRANT deodorant and not just a plain deodorant. There are plenty on the market including ones specifically for heavy perspiration.
use an anti-perspirent deoderant
Use deodorant or if you clothes are dry cleanable take them and get them professional cleaned.
get a bath
First you should add some lime juice in the water bucket while bathing.
Then you should wear a nice Deo.
This way you won't get smell from your armpits.
To get rid of sweat smell from the clothes, Presoak your clothes in bucket full of a water mixed in a good detergent for almost an hour. Then wash your clothes and feel the difference
I would throw them out, and buy some new ones.As if it hasnt gone after a few washes it wont. I had the same prob i sweat, dont smell but sweat a lot.
If you sweat quite a lot try buying a deodorant type thing called odaban which you put on at night and wash off in the morning, it stops how much you sweat and works really well.
That way you will stop sweating so much there and it will keep your nice lovely tops from ruining. Works out a lot cheaper than keep washing them too!
Good luck hun. xxxxxxxx
