What do you think about the current craze for straightening hair, even that which is already straight?

I'm quite pleased that straight hair is in fashion - as my hair is totally mid range - its not properly straight, and isn't properly curly! My hair is very thick, so straightening it makes it look much more under control.
It will probably go out of fashion at some point, as all things do. I don't think it looks phoney - if done properly, it looks very nice. I like curly hair too, so will be interesting to see when that comes back in to fashion!
i wouldnt be without my straighnters as i have kinks in my hair and it tends to go fuzzy sometimes. straightening my hair makes it smooth, longer and shiny

It will pass, as all fashions do. I like it, it keeps it under control even in damp conditions and means im not fussing with it.
I am a devout follower of the religion of GHD's. Without them my confidence reaches an all time low. They are heaven sent and a necessity, not a commodity. Even if curly hair makesa come-back (which it has..lots of gilrs wear their hair like it) I will remain a dedicated follower of GHD's.

Because nearly everyone is straightening their hair, i really appreciate and like to see curly hair ( real or permed). And everyone is going to have to cut all their hair short, all the split ends cut off, at some point as straighteners totally ruin your hairs condition

Some hairdos look great when done that way, some are just awful. I don't think it will last too long. Curls will be back, they'll just look different.
People having money need to spend it somewhere!

I do use straightners but im not an addict. I know what you mean some girls have have lovely thick hair and they make it poker straight with no life and it looks as limp as hell.

without straightners my hair is curly nice if i have the time to to dry it and make it look nice but just a frizzy mess otherwise the straightners are quick and easy!
