There are special shampoos for color-treated hair. They should say it on the bottle.
DOVE!! they have an amazin range n smell nice too!!
Pantein pro-V blonde hilight enhancer is the best tht's the one i use. my hair always gets kind of frizzy because i traighten it evrey day. It also makes my blonde hair more shiny. I can't live without that shampoo. Because once i went to a Casino in New Jersey and I staid at the Hilton and i didn't bring my pantene shampoo because i forgot it so it had to use the hotel's shampoo and when my hair dried it was a total nightmare i was all poofy and frizzy. And because i was staying there for a week i had to go out and get the Pantein shampoo.
I went from dark brown to blonde and used sunsilk for damaged and dry hair(orange bottle), it kept my hair in good condition and it was always shiney.
I find that Pantene is the most widely available, reasonaly priced, and overall best shampoo and conditioner in general. I lighten my hair too and I love it.
I have bright blond hair and I have tried tons of shampoos and conditioners in search of the perfect set:
1. Bumble and Bumble Lavender Shampoo and conditioner are ABSOLUTELY the best. They take the brassy and yellow tones out of your hair really well. I noticed an extreme difference after the first week I used it.
2. Aveda Blue Malva is formulated for white blond hair to take any yellow or brassiness out. It is alright but not the greatest.
3. John Freida Sheer Blonde for platinum to champagne is alright but only if you want your hair to have yellow tones which I hate.
4. Any other shampoos that are formulated for blond hair and don't have specific color enhancers are um.crap. Dove is terrible and pantene isn't at all good either.
Basically lavender based shampoo and conditioner duos are the best because purple and yellow are opposite on the color wheel and therefore cancel each other out.
the one that i best recomend u is dove treatment for light coled hair
sun silk for dyed hair
or
John Frieda Blond shampoo
With lightened hair, you absolutely need to be using professional products. My favorite color shampoo and conditioner is Biolage Color Care shampoo. It's reasonably priced, and works and smells great. (see here: http://www.matrix.com/products/biolage/c. )
Also, to cut down on brassy tones and keep your blonde looking fresh for as long as possible, Matrix Essentials So Silver is a great shampoo to use once a week. (see here: http://www.matrix.com/products/matrix_es. )
As for what you can do to help prevent further damage as well as repairing what damage you already have, Matrix Essentials Instacure Leave-In Treatment is AMAZING. (See here: http://www.matrix.com/products/matrix_es. ) It actually repairs the damage in your hair by replenishing the amino acids your hair needs to be healthy. Spray this product on any hair that has been chemically treated while it is wet, then style as usual. You will notice the change over time as you use it. It works as a detangler too, and hair breaking after lightening is a common problem because the hair gets so tangled after being lightened. So this will help prevent that also. You can use this product every day. Be sure to use nothing but a wide tooth comb on your hair while it is wet to prevent breakage also.
All these products should only be bought in a professional beauty salon. If your salon doesn't carry them or they are too pricey, try looking for them at a SuperCuts, Hair Cuttery, or Great Clips for the most reasonable prices.
Feel free to message me with any other questions you might have. Hope this helps, and good luck!
i would advise you to get professional products from your hairdresser as they will last alot longer and also look after your hair alot better the the supermarket rubbish that is out there. also do conditioning treatments about once of twice weekly to keep the condition good.
Without a doubt John frieda,s blonde or brunette range, believe me! I have tried them all over the years, from the bottom to the top of the price range. I use above for my shampoo. Im brunette, naturally but, use nice and easy colourant for enhancement. I have always said" If only they would bottle and sell the sachet of conditioner that they use in the boxes of N&E colourant, lots of people must have said the same, because they have just started selling these in trial tubes £1 for redheads, browns, blondes,Try it, its amazing. One more thing girls ( or boys)Try Charles worthington (yellow bottle ) shine on spray. I buy this for special occasions ,It leaves a slight residue, which comes out on next wash, but your hair shines like a new pin. If your hair needs an intensive conditioner, use a v05 hot oil , keep wrapping in hot wet towels, reapply every few weeks.
