No you can't apply for extension of stay if you are in the country !
If you really like being their then why don't you move. You could always come home and do the course you want. Depending on your age you could do it here for free or cheaper than over there. Come back home save the money and then when you pass your course you could move down under. If you stay for another yr you could regret it. so come home and think about it first.
