How many designer bags should a girl have, when is enough, enough!?

My mother ,myself, my 2 daughters all collect designer bags. I don't think you can ever have too many! Well, maybe, but only when you have run the credit cards up too high. Other wise keep your collection in good condition, store any that is temporarily out of date, they keep coming back in style. I bought my daughters their first Prada bags when they turned 13, they still have their first bag, and still use them.My mother had a cream and navy Dior scarf, from the seventies,when scarfs went out for a long time, she packed in tissue, put it away and forgot a bout it. Just recently, one of my daughters found it, and wears it as a headband! She loves it, designer, vintage, a great look, [she has a navy Dior purse,new, that it goes nicely with.Don't feel guilty collecting, you never know what piece might get passed down to the next generation.

Really, why are designer bags so great? Do people actually like the bag or is it just the label they like. I wonder, if they found that exact same bag but it had a different label and it was found at a thrift store would they still buy it. I'd say after 2-3, that should be enough because designer bags are pricey.
mine arent brand name, I like simple cheap cool good quality purses the best kind!

no one needs designer bags they are designed for a purpose no matter what the brand or style is. some might look better than others and some might not. but if you have alot of money then go for it but dont make it an obsession. have like 2 or 3 i suggest so it doesnt become an obsession.

I think one key bag per season is plenty, they cost so much money I think its better to have the best one that you can afford.
This season I have a big baggy brown Miu Miu with a long strap and leather bows at either end. Its beautiful soft suede. Then if I need something different for going out or a special occasion I'll just get something cheap from New Look or somewhere.
Of course, if I could afford it - I'd have hundreds!
When buying them becomes an addiction. when you never get round to using them. when you have a new one that you've never used. when you suddenly get a conscience and realise people are starving in this world and you've got xxx number of bags!
Buy what you like don't go by designer names.
When you stop having the money to buy them. Like when buying designer bags cuts into buying more important things. Also when you start to not use some of them.
Bags dont have to be designer you know! They just have to look good!

I think that as long as you're not like tripping over piles of designer purses, then you're fine. A girl can never have too many purses, its our prerogative, which always changes, girls need variety!
I suppose there's no limit if you really love and can afford them, but if you've having them just to brag about your designer bag collection, then that's just silly.
But I'm slightly biased, as I don't have any designer bags and don't see their appeal in the slightest.
