How do you make a bag out of an old pair of denim jeans!! It needs to be be quite a large bag?
Answers:
I did this once. I cut the legs off right up to the joint underneath the zip and sewn it up along the bottom. This gives you the whole top of the jeans to use as a bag. You can line this if you like then sew a zip along the bottom part of the waistband so that it's hidden. I used the handles off of an old bag but you could easily make the handle(s) with the material that was once the legs. You will basically end up with a bag that looks like the top of a pair of jeans, with all the handy pockets. Use bigger jeans if you want a bigger bag. You could also change the look of the bag by adding different belts etc.
First - find a large pair of jeans
Cut off the legs (together with the part where the crotch is). Turn it inside out and sew the two sides together to form the bottom of the bag. Use the legs to make straps for the bag. It won't look very good, so don't waste your time and efforts.
Cut up the jeans till the legs start, so they look like shorts, then sew up the bottom, and use the rest of the material to make straps. to make it look cool, add badges or sequins etc
Well if it needs to be a large bag, you're jeans need to be accomodating a large bum!
I dont think the look goes down very well though, you're better off buying one.
get someone else to make it
Cut off the legs, close to where they join. Turn the jeans inside out and 'hem' the bottom. Neaten the bottom edge - you may need to cut off the excess fabric You will need to attach a strap somehow (either sew it on or use a scarf threaded through the belt loops) and hey presto!
And the bag will only be as big as the jeans themselves, so if you're tiny, you'll have a tiny bag.
<>Rip the entire inner seam out (including crotch). Now, sew the outer edges of the seams back together (leaving the inside space wide open).
It will have to be done with patchwork. Cut the jeans into different-sized squares, or same-sized, if you prefer. Then join the squares together, perhaps with crochet. You'll need one long strip for the handle; one of the seams should do nicely for that.
By the looks of you babe it will be!!!!!!! only joking
I'm not really an expert at this, but it's an interesting question. Why not just sew across the legs an arm's length down from the top, and cut off the rest. If you keep the whole of the legs the bag will be bigger, but it will be harder to reach things at the bottom of the bag. I think it would be easier to start with an old denim skirt. Even easier would be buy a old bag at your local charity shop. Or make something else with the jeans, like cloths for cleaning the kitchen floor?
unpick all seams of jeans and steam press the larger portions.Make a paper pattern out of newspaper, maybe a large bag you already have and cut your bag from this. Alternatively, if not enough material, introduce fabric from other garments and make a VERY original patchwork bag
A baggage specialist can help you.
He can perhaps add some leather pieces onto your cut jean cloth to make it fashionable and trendy.
Small small jute / bamboo sticks or contrasting coloured buttons wil also help you.
cut the legs off just below the bum bit undo the seams and join them together again but not as legs then sew across the bottom and use the zip/buttons as the opening of the bag and in the belt loops make a tie thingy out of the legs bit to fasten round the top and to make a handle and if u only take a small size jeans then find someone with a big bum .. then u can have a bigger bag. sure there will be a pattern somewhere on the net if u google it .x
