Get it chopped off?

I have very long hair - to my hips -and I don't know whether to get it cut.it's in very good condition - always shiny and I get it trimmed regularly so there are no split ends but I'm getting a bit bored of it.although I can't imagine life without having my hair this long, and I don't think I'd like it any shorter. Advice?

Dont cut it at all. You can have so many different hairstyles. I used to have long hair years ago and I used to change the stye every day. You cant get bored with long hair but you can with short. You can have a chignon, a bun at the nape of the neck, a bun on top of your head. You can put flowers round the buns, you can have it loose, you can have a very long plait with a flower at the begining of the plait near the nape of the neck.you can have your hair swept to one side.you can have it curled and thick.you can have it cut in a U shape.you can have lots of tiny plaits interwoven you can have beaded plaits. Can you do this with short hair??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo so why are you bored with it
I love you. Don't do it.
Try a different style-layers, feathered. Just as long as your not bored with your hair! There ain't much worse than that!
cut it. long hair isn't attractive, its just to much.
thats too long,i can imagine what your brush looks like. You should get it cut maybe to the middle of you back.
Get it cut to about two inches under your shoulder. It is much easier to style and it looks great.
Don't make a final decision until you've thought about it for at least two weeks! Before you cut, try out some new styles. there are lots of cool up-dos that you can only do with really long hair.

I think you answered your own question: "I don't think I'd like it any shorter." If you don't think you'd like it shorter, why are you thinking about cutting it?

Cut your hair off and then buy a wig of the same colour. That way, if you feel that your hair is too short, you can always shave it all off and wear your wig and feel normal. A wig would be easier to maintain, too. You'll also be able to change the colour of your hair without dyes -- just buy another wig!!
This is what you do before you chop it You take your picture of your self and then take the cropper on pictures and crop your hair to see what it looks like before you do it.To get an idea.
I had very long hair and I cut it. I had it up to my shoulders and I hated it. You should get it about a little longer than your shoulders and maybe try a perm or get it layered. Good luck!
do what YOU want to do it isn't up to others it is your hair and your desicon personally i would get it cut but you make the desicon bc it is your hair and your head.
why dont you get some layers and have a style done! i was like you and had very long hair! i got very board and decided to have it all chooped off to my shoulders! it was down past my bottom! it was weird but i love it now!
Get a couple of inches taken off and see how you do, then if you do ok with that, go a bit shorter. Don't go drastically from midwaist to your chin or something, cuz it's too much of a shock for your system.
I had a friend who had a saying that went
"The only time long hair looks good is on a pillow"
I think you should get it cut and try something new.
Have it cut a little at first, meaning about 3 inches. See if you like it, then keep going shorter as you get accustomed to it. Don't cut it all off at once, because you will hate yourself afterwards. At least this way, if you don't like it, your hair won't have very far to grow back to the same length. Although, I wouldn't cut it at all (only for the occasional trimming for split-ends). I have hair that's midway to my waist, and it's so thin and brittle. If I could have your hair, then I'd treasure it.
keep it long
Get it short on the sides but keep the back long. The best of both worlds with a mullet!
do what you want doll long hair is beautiful and so is short and medium length so really follow your heart or you head and do what you want xxx
cut it off. that's old school.
Cut it for the love of God. You're a grown up not 5.
well from what you put it sounds like you dont want it cut.

but if you do decide have it cut to dont have it all chopped off as you might hate it take it in stages.
just have about 3-5inchs took off it.

then it will still be long but it should be easyier to style as it will be shorter. and you will get used to it easier if you do it in stages.

and remember hair grows back!
just think of all that hard work you put into it and what if you don't like the new you afterwards not like you can grow it back in a week is it give it a bit more thought first and then if your really sure go for it
chop it! you need a change, really you moght be in shock the first couple days but after you;ll feel renewed. i just did it a month ago. i had butt long hair and got it cut into a bob. just make sure you donate your hair. do it, its an adventure!!

Get it cut down to about your bra strap. That's a nice length. Also get some layers in if you havn't got any
hi, i think that you should cut it to a little bit below your shoulders. i will still be longish and u can do styles to it etc. BUT DO NO cut it anywhere above ur ears or , short!! u willll regret it! i promise you. :) bye
i think it would look better cut short
not to many have long hair anymore
well, if you want to then do it! at the end of the day you dont need to cut it really short and it will grow back before you know it, i cut my hair when i was 18, it was half way down my back, i had it cut to an inch all over, i didnt regret it and i even went shorter to a cm. these days i have extensions but only after having short hair for such a long time for a change. its up to you hunny, you can always get fake like me!
I had really long hair I cut it short and i really regret it now but I enjoyed it at the time. Do what you feel you would like after all you have to live with it
I had a friend who also had very long hair.
We all acted like she was the oldest in the group when she was the same age as we were. I remember she kept on telling us she was very tired of the long time it took to wash and dry and brush her hair, but her boyfriend loves it.
The point is- people keep hairstyles for right and wrong reasons. Hair will grow . If you cut it, make the hair a wig. If you keep it, you will have that timeless ol dotty aunt look that people get used to.
don't cut it off! I have long hair but not as long as yours. However, it does sound like you could benefit for a new style making the most of your lovely long hair but don't go short. There are plenty of ways to cut it to give it shape, texture and a new lease of life without the big chop. Go and see your trusted hairdresser and just ask for a restyle but still long. good luck.
You should definitely cut it. It always grows back, faster than you expect it to. Also, hair that long doesn't tend to flatter your face, and is usually unhealthy. I used to have extremely long hair and liked it because I felt unique, but after I cut it I felt much sexier. You don't have to cut a whole bunch off- maybe you should try to cut it midway down the back as a first step to see if you can stand parting with the locks.
