Do colour adapting foundations actually work???

do those foundations from rimmel, no7 etc. that claim to "adapt to your natural skintone" actually work? could i please get answers from people who have actually tried them, and also, would they adapt to ultra fair skin like mine? i have very pale fair skin and its hard to find a foundation that matches, as most colours are peach, apricot, honey, etc. anyway as i said, do these colour adapt foundations actually work, because if they did it would be a great help thanks!

Answers:
Products can't change colours to match your skin. Certain pigments can react to heat and other stimuli, but I'm guessing that *this* "adaptation" is a marketing gimmick. If you have difficulty finding cosmetics to match your skin, visit a department store and have a professional match it. This way the product will most likely be returnable and you'll actually spend less, considering the amount of product that you've probably already thrown away.
No way tried it don't work
yes. it makes your skin flawless!!
HI yes i have tried them i tried the max factor colour adapt, as i have pale skin, i think i shoud of gone for a darker shade,as i got the colour to match my skin tone which is pale and it made my skin look White and it was quite greasy and powery at the same time. I wouldnt recommend them, as they are quite expensive and arent as good as most foundations. I use Loreal infaliable, its quite expensive but is brillient and lasts all day.
Go to a makeup counter at David Jones or Grace Bros and get them to test one on you
I use a product from Avon that is made to adapt to your skintone. I don't think it works any better than average foundation.

I would try it. Rimmel products aren't that expensive, and every product is different for everyone.
I agree marketing gimmick. I would say it is smarter to try lots of foundations to find you exact one but make sure you switch in the winter to a lighter shade so that its exact.
ive tried a few but maxfactor colour adapt was the best and yes that one definetely works
Avon has all shades to match your needs
personally i have pure white skin normally and i have found all of these rubbish! they lie too think and heavy even cakey on the skin also making skin appear slightly oragne (i have trid about 5) i have found that the loeral one is the best for MY tone so i would recommend having a look at that! i personally use a small amount of my loeral tru adapt (if thats what its called cant think atm) with moisturiser which makes it spead betterbut giving a little coverage x
it aint worth the extra money
