OK what i do is first i put some warm water on my hair and then make sure its all wet.Now i get some shampoo and just put a little bit on and massage in then i rinse out till all the bubbles have gone. And now i get some conditioner preferably the same type as the conditioner and rub that in till hair is covered. And finally i wash it off and rub dry comb and blow dry and maybe use the straighteners. o.k good luck
Wash it twice and condition.
After you have thoroughly rinsed conditioner out, pour over water as cold as you can bear before you get out. It makes it really shiny! I also find that changing brands of shampoo regularly helps. Head and Shoulders mint shampoo makes your head all cold and tingly it's orgasmic!
rinse thoroughly
condition
rinse thoroughly
no hair dryer
try getting a good trim--you don't have to go shorter than you want but it makes hair healthier and more manageable.
this sounds weird but i had the same problem
evry month or so dump a bottle of beer on your head and then just wash hair like normal
it conditions your hair
this works for me i hope it works for you
wash it with shampoo twice and condition once massage the shampoo into your head for about 2Min's each time it works for me.
I hear that the most important part is making sure you par a lot of attention to the scalp and not as much to the hair. make sure hair it's completely wet and do not pour shampoo right onto the hair, put it in your hands and rub together 1st. Putting too much on makes your hair weighed down and the residue stays, so ease up on the 'poo.
i dont know if this will help much but i have thick hair and had the exact same problem but what i normally do i shampoo it thoroughly rubbing it thorough into your scalp then rinsing and repeat that again then condition but DONT rub it into your scalp or too near your head or your hair will look/get greasy then repeat that again.
I hope this helps.

i've heard washing it in your own urine is the best. Never tried it myself .lol
My stylist told me to wash hair twice then condition. Only need a sze of 5p each shampoo. First time it will not really lather but the second time it will. I have long curly hair and I find the Bed Head range seems to be good too.
i had the same problem until i tried somerfields own brand shampoo and conditioner the coconut one its really good
I have long, thick hair too. I always wash my hair in the shower. I only ever shampoo once but take time to massage the scalp. I don't use conditioner every time. I turn the tap down so it is cool for a final rinse. I comb out my hair before blow drying.

If you go to a chemist you can get something called Linco beer. This always gives a glossy finish.
you should always shampoo you hair twice then condition it the first wash does not clean it hope this helps
pantene

almond oil

rinse well
wash your hair using a shampoo for your hair type. rinse and makesure all of the shampoo is out. then use a good thick
feeling conditioner leave in for a minute then rinse and make sure its all out

afterwards dont rub your hair with a towl pat and smooth it dry from the roots downwards to help smooth the cuticles also use a wide toothed comb to detangle your hair. dont blast your hair face the hairdryer to dry your hair from the roots to the tips. blasting it will raise the cuticles.
Use water definitely (drink the beer mentioned above then you may not care about how your hair looks).

Best idea is to get some help, take someone in the shower with you, to help you wash your hair for you.
The best way is to comb it through before you start.
Use the best quality shampoo you can afford.
Wash hair twice.
Rinse thoroughly.
Use a good quality hair conditioner, comb it through your hair and leave it on your hair for 5 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly.
Towel dry and comb.
If you use a hair drier keep it on the lowest heat setting. High heat makes your hair frizzy.
add salt to your shampoo just a tea spoon and it draws out the dirt.

Before---

Use Oil leave it in for 30 minutes

During--
When you are in the shower, wet your hair for a minute or so.

Then get shampoo and put some into your hair.

Rub it in for 2 minutes, try not to get too much water in it at that time.

Then rinse. Repeat if necceasary.

Then Move onto conditioner, same process.

After--

When you are done, towel it off gently, and blow dry it.

Put a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER in it
Cold water as the final rinse seems to work well for me! Makes your hair super shiny, and I rarely dry - just leave to dry naturally :)
well for a start buy a shampoo for your hair type and apply plent of a good conditioner
I have long thick hair too, and I know it can be a huge pain. So here are some tips:

-DONT blowdry

-DO use both shampoo and conditioner

-DONT put shampoo on the ends of your hair, it will dry them out and cause them to split.

-DO condition your ends heavily, but only use a tiny size amount for the rest of your hair. If you condition the top of your head too much, your hair will get oily and slick much much faster.

-DO squeeze the water out of your hair before towel-drying.

-If you wash you hair at night, DO make sure you let it dry before you sleep on it.

-DO brush your hair in the shower/right after.
Comb the conditioner through and after you've rinsed off the conditioner, rinse your hair quickly in cold water. This sleekens the hair.
always rinse thoroughly this is where most people go wrong and leave residue in the hair leaving it heavy and flat.a good tip 4 you to try is if your hairs dark and a little vinegar to the final rinse if blonde use lemon juice it will leave a lovely shine.
