I'm desperate for a good foundation, please help.?

At the moment i use Max Factor foundation but it always seems to wear off and dry my skin out. I use moisteriser but it doesn't help. I wondered if anyone could tell me a good moisteriser that isn't over expensive and a foundation that looks as natural as possible, won't ware off and won't dry my skin out too much!!, thankyou.

You need to find a the foundation shade that is right for you. Also establish your skin type prior to purchasing your foundation. Oily or dry or normal skin. This is very important. This can be done at the beauty counter. I use the Mary Kay foundation and they have a wide range for all skin types and colours. Your foundation stays on all day if applied right. Please note that you need to have 2 shades. One that is your shade and another just a little brighter. Apply the first ( a little water makes it slide on easier) all over the face. Once you have achieved an even complexion, then apply the 2ND. I prefer for the second to be just a powder foundation. that way you can touch up gradually during the day.

I would recommend the clinique moisturiser. However you need to find the one that right for your skin. A cosmetologist advised me that its good to alternate your beauty products from time to time to avoid them loosing their effect over time. I have been applying this and I believe its true. I have used the Johnson baby lotion as an alternate for my moisturiser.

happy hunting.

Try your local Avon rep. Avon's products are really good nowadays.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse is really good
Which Max Factor do you use? - I find that their Lasting Performance Foundation works really well and gives excellent coverage.
If you want natural look that moisturises, have you considered using a Tinted Moisturiser instead of a foundation? Might kill 2 birds with one stone that way.
If your skin is dry try a foundation for dry skin. It will make a difference. Max Factor is a bit thick.. Try Rimmel lasting foundation that lets the skin breathe or Rimmel recovery foundation. They are both good and not expensive! For a more pricey one try clinique. Also remember that you can consult a beautician with this question and she can give you even better advice!
'Celestial' face cream by Lush. The face cream costs about £6-7. Use MAC studio Fix foundation. A little bit pricy but well worth it. Also the Studio Fix powder compact is good. They cost around £15-19. Once you try these you won't go back. Trust me. Good luck. x
Bobbi Brown stick foundation is fantastic, albeit pricey. It will last you forever though as a little goes a long way, especially with a latex sponge to apply.
Good luck. x
clinique has good stuff for different skin types and it isnt too expensive
You could try Mary Kay or Avon. They are there to help.
Mary Kay has an excellent oil free hydrating gel that moisturizes very well. Their medium coverage foundation stays on and doesn't dry out your face. It is very light, but like I said it stays on all day. Good Luck!
Don't use foundation, loose powder is enough.
go to the mall and get perscrypts or bobbi brown(it's New)
I love Arbonne's Mineral Powder foundation!
I don't actually use foundation just moisturiser and powder. I'm forty .. and use Olay Regenerist and the new L'Oreal True Match powder compact. Lovely light coverage and doesn't clog your skin.
You might need a good skin primer before you put on foundation. There is The Present by Philosophy (about $25) and Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox (don't remember price, but around $28). These help prime the skin before foundation.
Bare Escentuals. It comes in a powder from but goes on like a natural looking cream. You can buy in various shades, cost around 35 quid and lasts for ever. It also conditions your skin and has built in SPF factor. Order off QVC website, you can try for 30 days or get your money back. Its so easy to apply, Ive never used liquid foundations as get too messy and they look caked and fake, but Bare E is excellent.
Avon have a mousse foundation which is really good for coverage, colour, and staying put for hours. It's reasonably priced and even better when it's on special offer. No, I'm not a rep.
For a very good inexpensive moisturiser, try Nivea soft.

Also Estee Lauder products are very good, but a lot pricier.
yer use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse
I have very dry, sensitive skin and most liquid foundations I've tried do not work for me. I have been using Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals for over a year, and have had wonderful results. It stays on very well, doesn't inflame or irritate my skin, and provides excellent covereage (which I need). I usually purchase mine over the internet at the QVC website or on the Bare Escentuals site. They have really good introductory offers, and the products last a long time. For cleansers/moisturizers, I swear by Oil of Olay products. I have used them since I was a teenager, and people think I am on average 5-10 years younger than I am! Best of luck to you!
My advice - don't buy anything from Walmart, K-mart or Target. Spend a little extra to get better quality. Mary Kay is okay but not great. Avon is cheap and I quit buying their products. I've heard great things about MAC, Chanel, Clinique, and Chrisitan Dior. I use Merle Norman foundation too. It's about $17 but lasts about a year.
Revlon colourstay is absolutely great and it's currently half price in boots (well it was last week at least!) It doesn't dry my skin out at all and it really lasts all day. If your skin is still really dry then don't over moiturise (just before you go to bed and about 5 mins before you apply your make up) and drink lots of water. Revlon though - definitely my new fave. . . and I've tried a lot of foundations!
try go cosmetics. i've struggled for years with foundation but came across their foundation and it's brilliant, especially the one with 'lift' in it. it's great and it's only £2.99. i've tried everything from clinique, dior to max factor and this is the best. they also do 'copies' of products such as bobbi brown bronzer which is fab too! all cheap as well. hope this helps!
Clinique Perfectly Real Foundation! go into macys or nordstroms and talk to one of the makeup experts at the clinique counter and they will match your skin tone exactly and give you a 10 day sample to test drive it!
Try mineral makeup.

puritycosmetics.co.uk is a good brand.
Estee Lauder double wear. It costs £20 but trust me it is worth it. You dont need a concealer and it gives great coverage. It lasts 3-4 months if you use a foundation brush. I wont use anything else because most foundations dont last!
No one should be answering your question without first determining your age and your skin type. BUT for a great all rounder that stays on, almay amazing lasting foundation, is excellent value for money. ALTHOUGH it is far from natural. BUT it's great on a night out, as it sinks into your skin through the evening, leaving it luminous and flawlless. xxx
If you want GOOD foundation you are going to have to pay for it, Arbonne makes a foundation that is guaranteed to not break out your face or dry it out, it is called:
