i got one and it friend my hair, it looked terrible, they wouldnt give my money back. Also my hair burned off from the chemicals so now i have a chunck of hair sticking out of my head!!

I have been a hairstylist for 25 yrs. dont know any good sites but u prob can search for some, a free consultation at a local salon should help. some salons even have a pc program that can put ur pic in the style so u can see what it looks like b4 u do it. which kind will depend on what kind of styling u will be doing afterwards, like just wash it and go or sometimes if u want to wear it straight also. If u will be using flat iron sometimes then just get a body wave. If u want curls to wash and go then just a size smaller rod for a tighter curl, it will also depend on wut type of hair u have, long or short, etc.
A perm is a perm, it just depends on how the curlers are put in. But if you are looking for a good perm to have, visit a hairdresser that does a REDKEN perm, in my opinion these are the best perms to have as they last a very long time.
I have one length, straight, very thick hair down to my bra strap, and when I have a perm they last at least a year before I need to have another one, and even then there is so much perm left in my hair, that's its my re-growth that only really needs doing.
