What's so special about Rolex watches? Do they tell a 'special' time?
Answers:
No, but they do have a "special price". Mostly it's the name people are paying for.
the price is special
the bling factor
its status what they sell.
high quality , hand made, and they keep their value. if you pay $3000 for one you will get back $3000 .
They are normally gold, which I heard was quite 'special' and the fact that they are very well made, unlike the type that you can buy off a garage forecourt.
You are paying not only for the name but for workmanship too. They are extremly well made pieces and will last a lifetime. I prefer the submariner. It it completely waterproof whilke still looking nice and not to sport fanatic like.
They are for people who are trying to impress others. A status symbol. Give me a cheapo timex any day.
rolex are a very good make of watch and they are exacted up to a second out of time so all in all the are the best make i have seen so far and now they are very prisey :s
put one on your wrist then tell me a rolex aint special, there pure qaulity, just feel the weight, and boy do the real; ones shine, the biggest market for rolex is asia
NO NO NO, you never have to wind them it is awesome, If you don't wear them and put them on it will wind itself to the correct time, plus they are Uber light!! I love mine!
Yes the special time is that you need your head examined. Don't buy the name a cheap watch just does the same.
poser status
Nothing at all they are made of gold etc. they are a rip off, luckly its only rich f*****S who are daft enough to buy them.
Ahhmm have you ever seen the real expensive 1s they are super and they got alot of expesnive metals in like gold, silver ect, and many of there watches have real dimonds in the lot, The designs are exellent, i might go get 1 soon. And if you got a rolex you look ahhmm Welthy, its the ferrari of the watches, or omega are good but rolex are a just a bit better
Trust me i live in Switzerland, where they make all the watches
Nothing special really exept the craftsmanship and quality and engineering - the parts wont rust, and wont wear out, and
are reliable and are prescision tuned to be as accurate as possible. You could have one, working on your arm your entire life if you
did not abuse it. Most other watches just quit.
they're Handmade precision swiss watches
And by hand made I mean every part is assembled by hand
The precision of certain parts is nearr to unbelievable I used to work for a supplier of Rolex and we delivered rubber parts that were only a few micrometer thick.
furthermore you'll find that they are made with the finest materials gold christal glass diamond set in the watch!!
that still doesn't make them anymore affordable just understandable!
I Rolex is also an investments as they tend to retain some of their value. I think it is a personal thing - some people like expensive shoes, some expensive cars etc. I think if you look at Rolex and how their are designed and crafted you will see that they really are a beautiful time piece. I would love to get one but somehow food and shelter seem to take priority right now.
they are made of the highest quality materials and having one shows that you are a somebody.
No its just so the flash rich gits can make us all feel poorer.
Its the name, like your kids having to had nike or similar when the £8.99 ones from bacons will be just as good for climing trees playing football and paddling in the local lake to fetch out the football
Expensive watches have been reduced to cosmetic accessories. Nothing more than a bling showcase.
Yes it can tell time, but is it still really needed today? Not really. Clocks are everywhere these days. In your car, on your cellphone, on your MP3 player, on your PDA etc.
And in the example of the cell phone, you don't even have to set the clock,..ever! And it's ALWAYS right. So who gives a sh1t that the Rolex watches keep very accurate time, is it really going to matter? Probably not.
Bling, bling.
You are paying for the name 'ROLEX'. its the same as Cartier or Ben Sherman etc. If you bought a watch that was a rolex imitation it would cost alot less
Its a fashion thing..like BMW..
The actual answer is that a Rolex is a precision 17 jewel Swiss made automatic winding wristwatch. If you want the mechanical equivalent, you can buy an International Watch Company wristwatch for several hundred dollars and have exactly the same precision without the cost of gold and the name.
