Bad, blotchy and dry patchy skin! What products/remedies?

I've recently noticed my skin has become blotchy and I have some dry patches that look really horrible (I can't cover with make-up).
I currently just use a Molton Brown facial cleanser and it's not helping! Any suggestions or tips?!

I recently quit smoking (4 weeks) and I had mild acne as a teenager, if this has any relevance.

I had terrible skin then i found an amazing range from Australia, it's the worlds first certified organic range of make up and skin care, my skin has totally cleared up and i did a facial for my little sis who has terrible acne on her forehead, her skin looked so much better after, all the spots had drained out and it looked much less angry and sore, never seen anything like it before , bloody miraculous. It's called MiEssence and it doesn't have any synthetic chemicals in it at all. All the ingredients are 100% beneficial for skin. The website is really educational and if you hit the contact us button you can get a free consultation from a representative who gives you all this free info so you get the most out of the products, it's so cool and the products last for ages and aren't as expensive as you would think for Organic.
only put the cleanser on the places that it is needed. NOT ON THE CHEEKS or anywhere else i started using a cleanser all over my face cos i came out in spots but now i have spots and plocthy skin where i put it when it wasnt needed
Vitamin E and Vitamin A and Eucerin Lotion
I am a beauty consultant with Mary Kay and at 25 years old found my skin to be that of a teenager after I quit smoking. I suggest you go on line to MaryKay.com and find a consultant in your area. depending on where you live the climate can really affect your skin condition. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day- I know that's hard but it will help to clear out and imperfections in your skin. Also you need to moisturize whether you skin is dry or oily. the key is to find a product or combination of products that will keep your skin balanced. Mary Kay can help you w/ that. If you like you can go to my website: klosquadro@marykay.com and I'll help you.
the first thing i would say try aqueous cream if not then the best 1 i use for paches it really works is daktacort hydrocortisone cream works in about 3 -4 days use it after ur shower!
Any decent beauty therapist would recomment Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream..x
use E 45. not sure were your from but im sure chemists every were sell it, also wash your face with emulve lotion also available from chemist.
i suffer from this also i exfoilate at least once a week with a facial scrub .. i use decleor concentrate nourishment oil ,i put it on b4 my moisturiser let it settle for 5 mins then put on moisturiser i also use decleor flower nectar moisturising cream ,some people say they dont like decleor as it has plant extracts and essential oils and can be abit heavy on the skin but it agrees with me maybe you should try it .its really just the cold winter setting in, it can dry out your skin ,but congratulation for giving up smoking as it is real bad for drying out your skin too.. just a combination of both really . good luck
If you live in the UK, I can tell you that I had this problem recently and bought superdrug vitamin E nourishing night cream, it's really cheap and it has worked.
Try mineral makeup. It covers like a liquid foundation but looks like you have no makeup on.

puritycosmetics.co.uk is a good brand.
I've had this same problem. My skin is very sensitive though so I'm careful about what I put on it. Try AMLACTIN lotion (not the cream). You have to get it from a pharmacy (Walmart) but you DO NOT need a prescription. Just ask them for it. Use it on the dry patches and they will clear right up.
I've been a consultant with Arbonne for a while now. They have a great anti-aging line that can help with these issues.
They also have a 45 day money back guarantee on all of thier products.
Best of luck! I know how frustrating it is when our skin isn't looking it's best.
I hace trouble with dry patchy areas, I don't use any harsh products and just use BIO-OIL which is great!
Try this site. Good stuff.
What your using is obviously not working. Keep off the make-up for a while. I use witchazel to cleanse and heal my spots. It works every time. It will look worse if you try to cover it up. Sort your skin out. If it gets really bad go to your doctors in case it is something else. Good Luck it will sort out. Finally my spots have cleared up with antibiotics.
