Why do women wear anklets?

they are fashionable. it's neat to see an unexpected twinkle near someone's foot, and not many people wear them so they are a good fashion statement. also, they don't get caught on things and jangle around like bracelets.

No idea. Probably beats the conventional way of just donning it on their wrists, maybe?! It gives off a different aesthetic as oppose to bracelets. Either way it's an acquired individual thing.

because they are prettyful and make a nice sound when you walk they also make your ankles look thinner and draw attention away from any unwanted places.
Because knee highs are the worst fashion in the world. They shorten a person's leg and make them look dorky. Anklets show more leg or help to hide cankles somewhat. However, the booty socks that are hidden down in the shoe, but cover the foot show even more cankle.
Socks are worn to catch the sweat of feet. They help to prevent athlete's foot if worn properly. Some women think that anklets make them look good while others prefer them over knee highs.
It is simply a matter of preference.
