Are tattoos painful in the lower abdomen?

Everybody is different. I didnt think it was that bad but a friend of mine couldnt handle it at all. The ribs sure did hurt though.

They are painful no matter where you get them! Like a hot burning sensation - but it only lasts about 20 mins depending on how bit it is.
Get a pin and stick in your lower abdomen. Does that hurt? Now do it several hundred times a second. :)
People who have had tatoos in more sensitive areas, and the lower abdomen would be one, say that it's more sensitive because the skin is thinner. Carmen Maneheim (The Practice) talked about that one time on tv regarding her right ear.

they are gonna be painful no matter what. Although meatier and fattier spots are usually less painful. boney spots tend to hurt more like around your collar bone or ankle.
I'm not sure about there. I don't have one there. I have one on my wrist, bicep, and leg. Of course you have to consider the fact about how much you use your ab muscles for. It might pull there. I would talk to the artist that's going to do their tattoo.
On the lower abdomen, not so bad. IN the lower abdomen, it hurts like a sonofabitch

its not true that they hurt everywhere, ive got myself afew. depends where, the closest to the abdomen is on my side, it killed me, i was screaming for 2 hours. on my lower neck i was laughing because it was so tickelish :)

Not really, I didn't think. I have one on my lower stomach near my right hip, and it was actually the least painful of all the tattoos that i have gotten so far.
guess it depends on how much pain you can stand..its only the outline of the tattoo which is a little tender,the filling in isn't painfull.
the closer to the bone the more tender if will feel,but on fatty/muscular areas,it's not bad at all..go for it.
Tattoos hurt wherever you get them, as a rule of thumb the more sensitive the skin, the more it hurts, so inner upper arm, inside wrist, ankle/foot and abdomen is going to be sore.
everytime I get a tatto it feels like acupunture.
well they say it hurts there but it depends on what your pain thresh hold is i have a tattoo on the sid off my belly button and it didnt hurt me
Yes it will hurt no matter where you get the tat. I have one that goes accross my whole pelvic area. OUCH!!!!
