Epilators!!!?

Thinking about getting one of these as I hate shaving and superdrug have bought out these rubbish new wax strips that don't work properly.
My question is are they really as painful as they say. I used my mum's one years ago and still remember the agony but surely they have improved? Basically do you think they're good? What brand do you recommend and if not can you recommend me some decent wax strips. thanks. x

They do hurt for a little while until you get used to them a bit like waxing, but you get cooling packs which help to numb your skin. They can cause ingrowing hairs sometimes, but then so does waxing. But you can just tweezer them out and that's it.

As for the best made your best of going for one of te bigger brands like Phillips or Braun etc
PAINFUL and take a long time. I'd rather stick with waxing or shaving.
Personally, I don't think ANYTHING is as good as the old fashioned razor and shave gel.
Epilators are way more painful than waxing no doubt but they are just so much quicker like shaving and give u results like waxing so its kinda like the best of both except for the pain. I have a philips one which ive had fo ages but there are better onesout there and u can get ones with ice packs tonumb the pain. I dont find wax strips useful jus normal heated wax, but i would recommend an epilator definitely.
1 word ouch!! they really hurt try veet wax strips instead they work on really short hair too
I have used an epliator before and it was agony - its too slow like pulling yours hairs out one at a time. No thanks. I can never be bothered to wax as that hurts as well though not as much. Personally I just shave with those venus blades I'm super quick now and they leave my legs baby soft! I did buy that new veet hair remover cream with the plastic thing you use to wipe it away. Total crap and really expensive, It left me with stubble and stank really bad for ages after.YUK.
sugaring is good - my epilator went in the bin!
wouldnt use one personally tried it not long ago and i am definetly sticking to razor. hair when growing seems to grow inward. very painful. not worth hassel
They are really painful. If you have some, I recommend a Percoset beforehand. It does get less painful each time you do it and you do need to block out a good chunk of time, cuz you'll keep stopping cuz it hurts. I use one I ordered 10 years ago, its called Gently Gold. Nothing gentle about it. I use it once a week. Would be able to use it less but I only do it for as long as I can and with 2 kids in the house.. It is worth it though. I plan on getting lasered (laser hair removal) as soon as possible, even less maintenance and time!
No they still just yank out the hair and it still hurts.

I just stick to shaving my legs and do not wax
Not only is it VERY painful but it can also cause a load of ingrowing hairs which dont look at all nice!
Oh my god! i tried my sisters one and never again. Its an evil little monster. i get my legs waxed professionally and dont find that too painful but that epilator never again!
Yes first time hurts, but then it get s much better and you dont need it so often
no its not as painful as waxing and it is more clean and efficient.use it for the 1st time and it hurts a lot.but after that maybe the nextt time or the 3rd time u wont feel any pain at all.try brawn..its called silk epil n comes in different types
So painful, they are not nice and can cause ingrown hair.

Have you tried hot wax strips? I used to get my legs waxed, it was quick and pretty much painless. I think you can get hot wax kits from superdrug or boots to do at home
it's great! i use mine all the time, i have the Braun Silk Epil (super soft plus) it's fantastic I've had it for a few years now. At first it was painful but after a few times it just feels like a light sting. I don't think it's as pain full as waxing and the hair grows back finer.
for sure, it hurts, but the second time it hurts less, becauser their are less hairs growing.
and you do not have to use it as often as the shaver.

my mom and i. we bought one 4 years ago.. it was terrible. i never used him.
now i bought one myself from "Braun" .. It is very noisy but it hurts less then the old one.
therefore, they improved.

in my opinion you should try an epilator. use it once a week for one month, afterwards you have to use it only once a month.
Your hairs are softer then with a shaver and grow slower..
you have to use it the right way. short hairs and you have to tighten your skin. it have to be clean.
it is more painful at the ankles, knees and the inner side of the leg. therefore start with the outer side of you leg.
listen to music, that relax, and maybe have a cold shower before over your legs.

there are a lot of testprotocolls in the internet.
Ive used an epilator- and altho they hurt at first u get used to the pain, like anything. And the hair really does come out finer.

Immac hot wax i find works the best (altho i usually need a helping hand withn it!)

If you can afford it a professional wax is the best.
good luck xx
There really good- the more you do it the less pain you feel!
after abotu a year you'll only need to use it like 4 times every 6 months! good luck
