Ive been buying shoes at Zappoes.com they have wide shoe sizes and they ship fast. Sometimes they dont have your size though they are still pretty good.

www.hotter.co.uk are uk family run shoe business who specialise in ultra comfy but not fuddy duddy shoes. Not sure how evening like you mum wants but they do court shoes etc and you could try them. There are a couple more I cant remember but if you do a uk google search and play about with wording "wide fit shoes" Ladies comfortable shoes" etc etc, you should find something.
Has she tried ebay? Some of the seller just sell to the UK and others sell worldwide. Try to find something on there for her with a seller with a high rating and pass on the links to her. That could work. Just an idea. I am in the usa and see uk sellers on there all the time. The type is a little different. There is also a little help section at the top. You can ask them how to search just for sellers who ship to the uk or internationally. Hope that is something that will work as an option.
