Please do not listen to the majority of the people above me. They have NO idea what they're talking about.

The reason they tell you to wait for a month is because YOU NEED TO WAIT A MONTH. Even then, it is not completely healed, but you're at less risk of an infection after 4-6 weeks. Be patient.

The more you touch your jewelry, the more risk of an infection. If you change your jewelry now, you not only vastly heighten the risk for an infection, you are also possibly causing tissue damage to the piercing, which will cause further scar tissue.

Do not use antiseptic. The only aftercare you should be doing is gently washing around the piercing, once a day, with fragrance-free antibacterial soap (like orange-colored liquid Dial) or a gentler soap like Satin or Provon. That's IT. No alcohol, no face wash, no astringent, no hydrogen peroxide. JUST SOAP to get rid of excess oil around the piercing. Don't touch the jewelry and DO NOT rotate it. It will not "grow into your nose" as someone else suggested. That's ridiculous. Leave it alone. Don't touch.

If you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO change the jewelry, go back to your piercer and have them do it. They will do it in a sterile environment and know how to switch out jewelry in a fresh piercing, as to lessen the chance of damaging the healing tissue. Do NOT do it yourself. I don't care how many of the fools above my response say they did it themselves and it turned out fine - they were taking a massive risk and they got lucky. Don't be the unlucky one.
wait about 2-3 weeks then you can :)
yes as long u use an asepsis method
only during "full-moon"
wait it is very hard and painful if you take it out to soon.
a month is too long. If it's heeled then it's ok to remove it and put a new one, but put it immediately because the nose pierce could start closing in one day.
your supposed to wait 4 to 6 wks but i changed my daughters after 2 wks it was a bit sore at first but its fine now
wait for 2-3 weeks
Leave it another month then change it or you ll get it infected if you want to change it b4 go back to were you had it pierced originally and get them to change it for you.. the person who did the piercing should have given you a leaflet explaining..if they did not then don't use them again
I changed mine the same day that I had my nose pierced, cos the stud they used was huge and looked daft. Changed if for a small gold stud with no problems :-)
I changed mine straight away as the one they put in was massive and i wanted a small one in. Make sure you bathe it plenty though with antiseptic.
No. You should leave it in for at least a month. You risk getting a bad infection if you change it to early. Also every day, when you get out of the shower, turn the stud around one time. This helps so it doesn't start to grow into your nose.
its recommended that you leave the stud in 4 six wks after pearcing and then change it. dont leave your stud out for longer than u need to as i did that and had to force stud back in ouch.
If you can turn it easily and without it hurting then you'll probably be ok, but nose piercings don't like to be fiddled with so if it does hurt when you try to move it then leave it alone for another week or so.
I changed mine a couple of days after I got it pierced. There was a little blood, but I made sure my hands and the earring were super clean and the post made of gold. After that you have to keep taking care of it the same as when you just got it pierced. I had no problems whatsoever.
i would wait b.c i tried to change after a week or too, and i had to poke it through the last layer b.c it closed so quick and hurt like a b*tch!!!
Your piercer told you to wait for a reason.

You need to wait at least 6 weeks before changing the jewelry. If you change it before, you are at a high risk for infection, bleeding, soreness and keloids. Be sure to keep your piercing clean and take care of it. A few more weeks, won't kill you. Just make sure the new jewelry is of high quality and nothing with nickel and nothing coated.

Jenner's answer is dead on, she's a smart cookie :-)
i changed mine about 1 week after having it pierced the one they pierced it with fell out every night in bed it had a bit of a burning sensaition when you put the stud in, don't put it in bent as it will be painfull. xx
