I have a pony tail of hair that my daughter cut off a few years ago. How do I go about selling it?
It is dark brown, in beautiful condition, and about 9 inches long. I know that there is an American site - Hairwork.com that deals with buying and selling hair, but wondered if any one knows of a UK site. Thanks

If it is 10" or longer you can donate it. It will go to people that need wigs because of cancer treatment, etc.
get intouch with a hairdressers who deal with hair extensions. or try racoon they specialise in all types of hair extensions
Put it on ebay! You can sell anything on there, there is bound to be someone out ther who would have a use for it!!

Apparently you can sell it on ebay. I thought it'd be considered a human body part like teeth or nails, but apparently not.
You won't get much for 9" of hair, although if it's your daughters and is extremely healthy and never been dyed or processed who knows. The women who get big bucks usually have around 20". Consider donating it to locks of love instead.

Why would you want to sell something so personal? I'm sure if my daughter had given me her pony tail I wouldn't be selling it.
Unless it happens to belong to someone incredibly famous, it is highly unlikely anyone would want to part with significant money for a bit of hair.

When I had my hair chopped off i donated it to a cancer charity who made wigs for sufferers - I got a really lovely letter back thanking me and telling me where my hair went.
