"is it etiquette to wear a tie with a short sleved shirt"?
Answers:
Don't think ya particularly have any problems with etiquette, but it's not a good look. With a waistcoat short sleeves are even worse!
Yes but be warned that it is generally considered geeky.
A short sleeved short is often worn under a jacket which means that no-one can tell it is short sleeved, unfortunately in terms of etiquette, the sleeves of the shirt should show approximately 1cm from the end of the jacket sleeves.
Plus there is the fact that a long sleeved shirt allows for double cuffs, which in terms of Etiquette, is far more gentlemanly. Double cuff shirts are shirts that you can wear cufflinks with. I recommend Jaeger Shirts www.jaeger.co.uk and Bulgari Ties www.bulgari.com.
Of course I am English and our Etiquette is more formal than the American equivalent. A tie is pretty much expected in the business world in Britain unless of course you are filthy rich and answer to no-one or like me, are the boss of your company.
i wouldnt. i used to when i went to a catholic high school and would just get hot living in the south and having to wear long sleeves. but otherwise, it makes one look like a KFC manager.
If you want to look like you should be sacking groceries, sure.
Hi,
I don’t know if it is etiquette or not, but it looks ugly.
Sure you can.It might look a little dorky, but I think I'd rather look dorky and be cooler than have to wear long sleeves.
Actually waering the tie/cravatte is more the ettiquette gaff nowadays it shows you are old fashioned and insecure in your own worth.. look at righard branson Armani suits with t-shirts!!
i'de do it but im a girl. Uhm just do it and see what YOU think not what anyone else thinks.
No you will look like a dork
There is no problem wearing a tie with a short sleeved shirt
I don't know about etiquette, but it looks dumb.
