How long should I keep a razor blade for?
I never really known when to change my blade. It seems to still shave me just fine after weeks of use, I assume there comes a point when it's best to change it..

what kind do you use.the ones i use become blunt after about 2 or max 3 weeks. venus. =) when u're getting cuts that's when u should toss 'em.
When it doesn't shave you right anymore.

I read that you should change then after every 5 or 6 shaves. Sounds like tosh to me, I use mine for months, and I've got a lot of har.

If it's still cutting then keep using it. Change it when it either cuts your face or stops cutting the hair like it should. I only shave (wet) now and again and my razors last months. When it isn't doing what you want it to. That is the time to change it :)
hell yes. as you shave the blade gets increasingly blunt. you should notice that it doesnt glide so well, needs repeated passes to shave cleanly etc. a sharp blade casues much less razor cuts to the face than a blunt one. i dont think i would use a razor more than once, but then i am in my 30's with proper beard growth.

I figure if I have to shave over the same area twice to feel smooth..it is time to change to a new blade.

I guess that the best time to change it would be when the indicator lubricating strip has gone.
lol dont wait til it cuts ur face! then it will be too late and you'll be stuck with a cut on ur face or skin LOL! frequently change it BEFORE IT CUTS YOUR FACE NOT AFTER! dont listen to those ppl lol
after a few years shaving son u get to know when its blunt
till it takes off half yer face----or wherever your shaving----is usually a good sign!!

If rust appears on the blade or it discolours, you've had it too long!
Seriously.every couple of weeks. Some soap and stuff always stays on the blade and you don't want an infection. That's why God gave us disposables.
