What do you use to wash your face? (Cotton wool, cloth etc.)?
I used to just use my hands for putting the cleanser wash on and washing it off, but it literally took ages to get all the soapy stuff off and I wasn't cleaning properly. So I now use a flannel which means i can clean deep into the pores, only problem is it scrapes my skin a little and I'm not sure if its the best thing to use.
The wash I use is a liquidy gelly one, so how do you use yours and wash it off?

I like use a flannel as the slight roughness of the flannel acts as a mild exfoliator, so I have cleansed and exfoliated in one easy go!
I use my hands and wash the soap off with water.
Maybe you were jsut using too much.

Dove soap and warm water, then towel dry unless I have a wet shave then I'll just slap the foam on my wet face.
I use a washcloth (cotton), St. Ives Apricot Scrub and warm water.
i use oil of olay daily facial wash cloth they are the best.
I use cotton wool pads specially for taking make-up off I use cleanser, toner, then i put moisturiser on with my fingers

I use a foaming cleanser and warm water. I don't require a washcloth or anything like that. The only cloth I use is my towel to pat my face dry after I've rinsed it.

It really sounds like it's the facial wash you use. If it's that difficult to fully rinse off, that's a problem. But a flannel is scraping your skin? I think you might want to invest in a softer one of those as well. I use the Body Shop's tea tree facial wash. It rinses off very easily and because it has tea tree oil in it, it's a natural antiseptic and prevents and breakouts. I've been using it for years and I have sensitive skin too.

I don't use soap on my face as it dried my skin badly. However, i have discovered that the tesco clear skin range is excellent. Its a lot cheaper than clarins etc but is actually better.
I just use the cleanser applied with make up pads and then the spot gel, then rinse with water. Works brilliantly and doesn't leave my skin to dry (or indeed greasy)

I think perhaps you should try a different kind of face wash if this is happening as its more likely to be the wash than the water, try something hyperallergenic and frangrance free etc. Also don't scrub, splash the water onto your face and be gentle. I just use a basin of water and my hands with a mild face wash and thats fine but used to get aggrevated skin from a harsh gel.

Don't use a wash on-wash off cleanser. They're a pain, and I don't think they clean that deep. And NEVER use bog-standard soap & water.
For as long as I can remember, I clean my face with a creamy cleanser with cotton wool pads, then get rid of the residue with toner. Wouldn't do it any other way.
Try 'Dermol' lotion 500, its a soap substitute and moisturiser good for sensitive skin too, use with cotton pads, most pharmacists carry it , best of luck. ..Ikey
I used to use foaming face washes but found them quite drying on my skin. Now I just use Johnsons Baby lotion and remove it with a facecloth and warm water, splash with cold water to close pores and pat dry with a towel before applying moisturiser. Works well for me.
