Best remedy for warts on the hand?
No old wives tales-the more scientific the better
Answers:
A product called Wartner, available in Boots. It works like the stuff they use at the doctor, and works really well. I've barely ever needed more than one application and it's much more convenient than having to go to the doctor for something so little.
It's supposed to be an old wives tale but it works. Get someone to buy it off you for a 2p piece (used to be a penny apparently) - not as daft as it sounds something to do with the copper in the coin! so there.
Get them frozen off at the doctors. I think it's liquid nitrogen. It flippin' rocks, whatever it is.
teeth.
My mate tell me its a South African Jackals Urine rubbed into the warts, that will do it,,,,,,,,,no really,,,,
A recent scientific study compared dermatologists using liquid nitrogen to freeze the warts (the treatment of choice) with simply keeping duct tape on the wart. The duct tape won, by a wide margin.
Salicylic acid comes as drops, gels, pads, and plasters. They are designed to apply to all kinds of warts, from teeny little ones to great big lumpy ones. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic, which means it dissolves the protein (keratin), which makes up most of both your wart and the thick layer of dead skin that often tops it.
I've had wart freezing at the docs, with moderate success - (forget similar-type Wartner, it doesn't work)
Best substance is Salatac, used with a scalpel every few days. chemis told me same ingredients as bazooka, but in different qunatities and works out cheaper. good luck
Horse tail hair apparently you are supposed to put the hair round the wart and pull it tight think it bit of an old wives tail but WART you got to lose ha ha ha
there is this stuff you can get in the chemist that you just put on them a few times a day and they fall off it worked for me
it isn't glamorous - if you have a large single wart, do as one of the other answerers suggested = get it removed by the dermatologist by having it frozen. if you have multiple small warts denavir will go on like a cream and is very effective. a presciption is needed.
my sister had one on her knee she used verruca stuff but it didn't work, so she used my dog's flee stuff and it worked within 3 days
I had them as a child and used a nail file to rub them down and bought a solution from the chemist to kill it. It worked for me but if need be you can go to your Dr who will freeze them off over a period of time.
Not sure. But don't play with yourself in the meantime!
Wartner, £13.99 boots. One treatment and they gone; for most stubborn, may require twice.
first of all dont bite them, it will spread onto your face. you can go to the doctor to have them freeze them, or you can buy a thing to freeze them at home, i think there is a thing made with the dr. scholls brand.
Go to your GP or go to your chemist and they will recommend some thing
A few years ago my son suddenly developed several warts on his fingers. We used the Dr. Scholl's wart remover pads. They are the ones with a small black disc that sticks to the wart and then a bandage that goes over it. They took a couple of weeks to work but the warts came right off. Professional freezing may work, but it left a dark scar on my sister's hand.
gloves mate. big ones.
Whatever you believe in will work for you.
That's why there are so many recipes for the curing of warts.
Since you believe in science, I'd recommend the salicylic acid.
the only other thing (that I know of) where magic works as well as science are shingles.
And that's no joke!
Duct tape. Not even kidding.
Roll a small piece of it up so that the adhesive is on the outside - stick one side of it to the wart. Put a bandaid around it so it just looks like you got a papercut or something.
Trust me, this works. I had a wart on my finger for like a year - I put duct tape on it and it was gone in a week or two.
