don't know who invented them but i love them
I don`t know who invented them and yes, I like them.
It was a tribal thing I ma not sure if it came from south American Indians and natives or the Maurois and Aboriginals
Actually there were many native tribes of North America that used tatoos. So did the Native of Hawaii. But I'm not too sure if they were the first.

The Jomon to the pre-Edo period
The origin of tattooing in Japan has been traced back to the Jomon period (10,000 B. C. ~ 300 B. C.). Jomon means "pattern of rope." Many ceramic pots with markings of rope were found in that period. Clay figurines produced in this period are called dogu. Scholars consider that some dogus show tattoo-like markings on their faces and bodies. The oldestdogus whose faces have a depiction of tattooing were found near Osaka in 1977. They are estimated to date from dated the fifth century B. C. (Richie,1980). During the Yayoi period (300 B. C. ~ 300 A. D.) clay figurines with tattoo markings were also found (Yoshioka, 1996).

Yeah I like them, as long as the're not really tacky ones.
don't know who
Love them but I am not obsessed
the word tattoo comes from the polynisian word tatao, which means to tap with a stick as the ancient practice of tattoing involved a stick with sharpen bones at the end of it and another stick was used to tap it rapidly to penetrate the skin, so i believed it came from the polynisian islands,
The word "Tattoo" is a bastardization of the Polynesian word "Tau-Tau" which is the sound that is made when they apply the markings in a traditional manner. In one hand they hold a stick with either sharpened bone, fish teeth or boar-tusk. This acts as the "needle". They dip it into whatever they're using for pigment (ink) and then 'tap' it into the skin with another stick.
When the sticks click together, you get the 'tau-tau' sound. When collonialists were checking out the south pacific back in the day (a Looooooong time ago), they brought this back to their countries of origin (England, france, Spain, etc.) I hope this helped!
