Why do men get grey belly button fluff, when women don't?

Men have more belly fat and therefore a deeper bellybutton for lint to collect in. Many years ago I was taking a nap and my two year daughter decided to stack Cheerio's in my bellybutton. I carry a little extra weight around the mid section and she was able to get about a half dozen of them firmly wedged into my bellybutton. I was still picking out pieces a week later.
Well isn't it obvious? Because their partners lovingly lick it out for them!
Men don't exfoliate, either. I think the two are related.

I've heard or read somewhere that it's because they have hairy belly buttons. The hair catches all the fluff from the day and the fibres from their clothes and makes a little fluff ball.
