I like Frank Mullers, as well. But they're a little bit pricey! I have a Breitling that I like, but for the ladies I still think Cartiers are class. If you don't want to spend thousands of pounds, though - I would buy a Swatch.
I have a GUESS watch.
There are some great designs for every occasion.

A digital casio will never go out of fasion.
I went with the £10 Timex from Argos.

D&G or GUESS or BURBERRY.
I'd have to say Omega! They very expensive but worth it!
It would depend on your budget to start with.
I would stay away from the high street designer watches. D&G, CK, Armani are all replaceable watches that are cheap enough to get a new model as soon as you're bored with the one on your wrist. Which is about 5 minutes on average.
Up to £100, Swatch are always coming up with something sharp. Not always to everyones taste but you're sure to find one you like.
Between £100- £1000 I'd say the TAG Heuer Link or for a guy (as worn by Matt Damon in the 'Bourne' films and 'The Departed', Gucci for the ladies. Now I'm not a major fan of Gucci personally but every once in a while they bring out a gem of a watch and they seem to have excelled themselves this last year with several.
From £1000-£5000 you've got the Jaeger le Coultre 'Reverso', several styles available in the oldest watch design still in production (75 years) You cannot get more timeless than that.
£5000 - £10000? The Hublot 'Big Bang' seems to be the watch of the moment. Very exclusive but looks the biz. For women, the Zenith 'Star Sky' or 'Star Sea' is a definate.
£10K and up go for the Ulysse Nardin Freak. At around £30,000 it's a stunning watch that really gets your attention. The 'Reine de Naples' from Breguet is an amazing egg-shaped watch with a touch of class.
