What could be the reasons that people thought I weighed more than I am?
I posted a pic yesterday asking how much people thought I weighed and what clothes size they thought I was. Although most of them were close with the clothes sizes (US size 6-10), some of the answers were saying they thought I weighed 140lb-160lb. I'm actually only 120lb and 5ft 2. Could it be they thought I was taller and this is why they thought I weighed more? If I was 140lb-160lb, this would be quite overweight for someone my height and would make me a size 12/14, yet no-one guessed higher than a US size 6-10.
Anyone have any ideas? Could it be I just look stocky or because of my wide hip bones? I also work out a lot so have quite a bit of muscle.

Sometimes the clothes you wear can change your body shape. You might want to wear clothes that elongate your torso. Also, I would not suggest wearing low low rise jeans if you are 5' 2". It will emphasize your petiteness. Wearing heels can help make you look taller, too! They don't have to be 3". Even a shoe with just a little heel can make you look taller, instantly! Heels with a pointy toe can make you look taller and the pointy toe will elongate your legs! Most importantly, wear clothes that you feel comfortable in!!
Please stop obsessing about your body image. It is psychologically unhealthy. Just eat properly, exercise and try to dress attractively.
all small people look heavier than they are and at 5ft 2 your a dwarf so i surpose you kinda look like a umpa lumpa

Youre probly right, you are stocky with some muscle. Dont worry about what ppl think, youre you, and thats all you need, if youre happy with your body, thats al that counts!

if you were 140-160 at 5'2" yes you would be over weight, It may have been the style of close you had on, or the way the photo was taken, even when you work out that muscle will make you look larger but hey who cares as long as your are fit, all muscle
Could be cuz of ur height. The weight on talls girls is less noticeable. If you are shorter than it might make it look like you are heavier.

I'm 5 ft 2 also. And I weigh 58 kg the last I checked a month.
Don't worry about other people's guesses. One picture alone isn't a particularly good way to estimate someone's weight.

No one here can accurately guess someone else's weight, so why take the answers seriously? Even a vet doesn't guess an animals weight to calculate the dose of drugs they need. Its just too inaccurate.
Its common in our society to over estimate women's size and weight. You know that, so why even ask the question?
The point is do you feel healthy? Do you have good energy levels?
You obviously don't look fat, so worrying about non exist ant weight is just one more pressure you don't need!
It could be the clothes you are wearing - make sure they are good for your body shape. Try wearing black - it is a slimming color. Don't wear anything that makes you appear bigger than you are (bulky sweaters, lots of layering, etc.).
