Why are women shorter than men?
As a tall person, i find that most women are about 6-10 inches shorter - I don't think they enjoy "looking up" to tall men. High heels can work but why arn't women taller (or men shorter)?

That's not always the case. There are plenty of women out there that are taller than men. You just have to look around.

I am turned on by very tall men. My previous partner was 6 ft 5 and I'm 5 ft 5.
Even the tallest heels seemed to make very little difference.
I was aware of the difference and thought he would LOOK better with a woman who was, say 6 ft tall. But we had great chemistry and we made it work.
I guess men are traditionally the ones who take care of their female partners.they are the hunters who kill the wild boars..

im 5 foot 8 and im at least as tall as most of the blokes i know, or almost as tall as. there are short men and tall women too, you're obviously just not looking lol
no we go through puberty before them so when they start going through it they will get taller
Because when women can't reach something on the top shelf, the man feels useful in that he can reach, he likes them to demonstrate that they can't reach, and the eyeful is his reward.
However that doesn't work in our household as my hubby is 1" shorter than me! and I have longer legs..

It's genetics. It takes a good body size to support large muscles and upper body strength. Women lack those muscles and, so, they don't need the larger skeletal structure to support it.
Men don't have hourglass figures for the same reason. they don't have a wide pelvis so they can have babies.
i like being shorter than the man i'm with. then i fit comfortably into their arms.
Well I am taller than most men, so I can't wear heels. Believe me I don't like being taller than men. I think it intimidates them.

I'm 5'8 and I've been taller than some guys I've dated and shorter than others. Doesn't matter to me and never mattered to the guy.

Evolution. Man is the stronger, supposedly, and, therefore, has a more muscular structure which tends to be larger.

Women are smaller with a higher body fat percentage so they can have children and feed them.

Well there are some woman who are at a monsterous height but they are few and rare and usually become supermodels so most men don't get to touch them. LOL! But woman LIKE looking up. We tend to hate looking DOWN! It's socially acceptable for a guy to be 6 feet tall but it's akward for woman to be. So being shorter is a problem for guys more so than girls.
One of my guy friends is 5'2" and hates it, he feels inadequate and keeps saying he can't get a decent girlfriend because of it. I myself hate being tall, I'm 5'8" and most guys are either my height or even a little shorter. Not too many are much taller than me. I can't wear heels because I suddenly become a towering monster over them!!
men are taller because they have to do the more physical jobs, in antiquity, such as hunt, defend their families ecc. women were the nurturers. they have the babies and cooked to keep the species alive. we're just made differently. it's like asking why do women have bigger hips than men do. plus i find it very nice to be with a taller man than myself because it makes me feel more proteced.
