Can anyone name any dark skinned black female celebrities?
Answers:
I know celebrities are a big influence but why don't you look towards people like Condoleezza Rice who looks after national secuity for the States or Joyce Ohajah the news corresponent who won reporter of the year? If you focus more on influences like these then the chances are your nieces will grow up with ambition to succeed and seek incredible careers rather than want boob jobs and men that will think they are attractive. x
dunno
Donyelle from so you think you can dance. she is dark, and she is beautiful, gracefull, and a nice person

Cicely Tyson
Whoppi Goldberg..

aw i'm so sorry.. i don't think anyone should ever feel unequal! i'm with you. there should definitely be more black famous people.. i mean there are, but it doesn't even compare to how many are in the white race. i totally agree, and you're not being racist at all.. but hey.. look at.
hallie berrie, beyonce, the girl sherri from big mommas house. ahah i love that movie.. sorry i don't know her real name.. rihanna, mary J. Blige, alicia keys, oprah.. it sounds funny, but she's a very good person to look up to. i'm sure there are many more, but those are off the top of my head, and i know that's not enough .. there should be more because i know i can name a lot more white people which is NOT good. i think everything should be equal.. well at least with race. i can not agree more.
i'm so sorry you feel this way.. but hopefully more people will realize soon.

Oprah Winfrey!
Whitney Houston!!
Penny Johnson! (Played David Palmers wife, "Sherry Palmer" in 24) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0425982/.
I'm sure there are more.
:-)
Gabrielle Union for one.
Hally Berry
Queen Latifah
Gabrielle Union
Tyra Banks
Oprah
Raven Simon
Vivica A. Fox
Jada Pinkett Smith
Janet Jackson
Rihanna
Beyonce Knowles
Kelly Rowland
Naomi Campbell isn't light at all, she's beautiful and brown but mean as hell. Kelly Rowland would be good for them to look at in comparison to Beyonce because she's so light, people don't realize that Kelly has a cute face, they just look at Beyonce only. Angela Bassett is a really good actress and so is Nia Long. I'd like to see people more of my shade as well sometimes because it seems like the world only revolves around light skinned people. Blacks still have this color complex thing too. Black men think "red" women are prettier and some Black women only like the Terrance Howard's of the world, light skinned with green eyes. I'm not dark but it's hard to even find examples of brown and light brown celebs who are beautiful to show people that you don't have to look half white to be considered pretty. Queen Latifah would show them that you don't have to light and thin either, she's brown and big and beautiful.
janet jacson, halle berry, beyonce, JLO there are many dark skinned black female celeberties that you can look up to.
dont feel that way i mean just be yourself then everythings fine.

I do admire black american (African American) because their beauty really stand out and almost are really talented. So many black singers like Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson and Ashanti. I admire celebrities like Oprah. She's the best host and I love watching her show. The whites really admire her and love her. Look at Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell. two of the most popular black supermodels are well-known for their exotic beauty. even if they are beautiful or not. It is their personality that sells, the same goes with Brandy. And I would bet they worked their behind off to get where they are. they didn't sit back & complain. they went out & proved the world wrong. I'm a Filipino with tan complexion. I'm proud of my dark color and my country. You know one of the advantages of being dark is we are not prone to skin cancer unlike the whites! ;)
Lindz be your beautiful self and that will lead you to success.
I found this poem and hope you like it.
Lord . Why did you make me black?
Why did you make someone the world would hold back?
Black is the color of dirty clothes, of grimy hands and feet.
Black is the color of darkness, of tired beaten streets.
Why did you give me thick lips, a broad nose and kinky hair?
Why did you create someone who receives the hated stare?
Black is the color of the bruised eye when someone gets hurt.
Black is the color of darkness, black is the color of dirt.
Why is my bone structure so thick, my hips and cheeks so high?
Why are my eyes brown, and not the color of the sky?
Why do people think I'm useless?
How come I feel so used?
Why do people see my skin and think I should be abused?
Lord, I just don't understand.
What is it about my skin?
Why is it some people want to hate me and not know the person within?
Black is what people are "Labeled" when others want to keep them away.
Black is the color of shadows cast.
Black is the end of the day.
Lord you know my own people mistreat me,
and you know this just ain't right.
They don't like my hair, they don't like my skin,
they say I'm too dark, too light!
Lord, don't you think it's time to make a change?
Why don't you redo creation and make everyone the same?
God's Reply
Why did I make you black?
I made you in the color of coal from which beautiful diamonds are formed.
I made you in the color of oil,
the black gold,
which keeps people warm.
Your color is the same as the rich dark soil that grows the food you need.
Your color is the same as the black stallion and panther,
Oh what majestic creatures indeed!
All colors of the heavenly rainbow can be found throughout every nation.
When all these colors are blended,
you become my greatest creation!
Your hair is the texture of lamb's wool;
such a beautiful creature is he.
I am the shepherd who watches them,
I will ALWAYS watch over thee!
You are the color of the midnight sky;
I put star glitter in your eyes.
There's a beautiful smile hidden behind your pain.
That's why your cheeks are so high!
You are the color of dark clouds from the hurricanes I create in September.
I made your lips so full and thick,
so when you kiss.they will remember!
Your stature is strong,
your bone structure thick to withstand the burden of time.
The reflection you see in the mirror,
that image that looks back, that is MINE!
So get off your knees,
look in the mirror and tell me what you see?
I didn't make you in the image of darkness.
I made you in the image of ME
Lots of them, to name a few, Halle Berry, Beyonce, Tyra Banks, and Oprah Winfrey. I do have high respects for these women. In fact, I don't see them as black women at all. You should never feel bad about being black girl. That's only superficial beauty. There is more to life than skin tone. Stop moping. Build your confidence from what you've got. I mean, if your black, then use it to your advantage. Choose clothes that complement your skin tone, always maintain a good hygiene, and SMILE. That's all it takes.
"People are all the same, And we only get judged by what we do, Personality reflects name, And if I'm ugly then So are you, So are you" -- Sugarbabes
sorry but it sounds racist, bet your one of those that as soon as something doesn't go your way ,it's not cos your not up to it ,it's cos your black,if you loose at something ,it's not cos your useless but because your black, time to get a life and wake up ,stop whingeing and hiding behind your colour,be proud of who you are and your race, but don't blame me cos you were born black.do you also realise there are as many ignorant bigoted black/brown people against whites as the other way round.
It doesn't matter what colour of skin you've got if you look up to someone it usually has alot to do with what's inside. Also if you have a family member of your description then you will always have someone to look up to.
