How do I advertise?

I want to start my own business, working a few hours a week, designing houses and extensions. I dont want my ex boss to find out i've gone self employed but want lots of people to see my advert!

If your ex boss is in the same line of work, then he will inevitably find out if you advertise effectively.

Do you feel guilty about venturing off on your own? If an employer has invested money and training into shaping a person for the industry, they can feel guilty about taking those skills and knowledge to work for themselves. If a significant time period has passed (some people have contracts when they leave a job that says they cannot approach their clients or work in the field for 6-12 months) then you could approach your ex boss and discuss the situation with him.

He may give you his blessing, if not, you will have been upfront and honest. If there were no such restrictions set upon your leaving, then pursue your own interests openly and without hiding from anyone.

You cannot advertise effectively and yet stay unknown. Deal with the issue and then be free and open to pursue your dream wholeheartedly. You will then give it 100% which will lead to greater success.

Good luck in business.
Your *ex* boss? Why should you care?
Put it on internet.get pamphlets printed and use newspaper ad sections.come on TV, radio..after all u r self employed..give a damn to your boss
Read some advertising tips on this site
dont put your name in the literature and by the way its a free country so stuff your ex boss
Try these, they are both FREE
also, if you send me an email, I`ll forward you a usefull link which will get you loads of hits to your website, promoting your product/services etc.
Depends where you want to advertise. You Could usae Yahoo or Google if you want internet or you could advertise locally in your local shops. For example contact your local supermarket eg Tescos and ask them about advertising in their store(s) and they should be able to give you information on how to advertise although dont be surprised if it gets costly!! Another good place may be in local petrol stations, sounds silly but alot of passing trade! Hope this helps! Have a great day
