No you don't have to register it unless you are going to be a limited company. I would suggest you do not need to be Limited.
If you WANT to be a Limited company then you have to register with companies house.

But not on Sundays for unknown reasons.

If you are a sole trader and not a Ltd. co. No.
Check to see that no one else is using the same name by going through your telephone directories. You only have to register the name with companies house if you are a LTD co or Ltd liability Partnership!
Make sure you register with HMRC for NI and Tax purposes. You are legally required to register with them within 3 months of becoming self employed - no matter how low your income is.

I have just recently started my own cleaning business its just me so I don't have to register the business name , all you do have to do is to go to HM Revenue and customs where you will find all the answers you need , even paying tax & contributions this is all online
