Why is it shop staff get treated badly?

Answers:
Possibly because the customer has learned that if he doesn't shout loudly, the shop assistants will remain locked in conversation about last nights' shag, oblivious to the fact that their job is to serve customers, not ignore them. Most customers will only take that once, and after that, it's war !
because the customer is always right
lolz
because most shop staff are woman.
Shop staff are usually treated badly by people who do not have to work in the business therefore do not understand how things work and that there is a process. Those who do work in retail and still treat staff from other shops badly should know better.
Because some look down their noses at customers, don't say thank you, don't smile, throw change at you in case they touch you.The list goes on.oh..worst one, talking to their friends on the phone,or in the shop, ignoring you completely.Saying that, there's some really nice shop staff out there, same as in any kind of work
Because they are badly trained, no customer handling skills and dont care about the job , dont see it as a career.Oh and by the way "GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE/CARE IS WHAT THE CUSTOMER THINKS IT IS"not what the staff want to dish out on the day!!
poor upbringing on the customers' side??
