Has anyone changed career? What job do you do? General careers advice!?
I am bored stupid!! Anyone changed career and how did you do it.
Looking for general information about how you got into your chosen career etc, and what you like about it.
I'd be particularly interested in any that you don't need very high level requirements to go into.
Thank you very much!

I changed from Admin to IT. Unfortunatly you do need the education for that change. I had to go back and start at the bottom doing SVQ2, HND then Degree. It was a nightmare after earning a full time wage going back to full time education, but hopefully it will be worth it. Im now in a job relateing to my degree, and although its been hard work, Im glad I did it.

i changed career a little while ago and found the best way was to get in touch was with jobs reunited, they find jobs in your area, suitable for you with your qualifications, you have to register first but then they do all the searching for you, good luck and i hope you find what you're looking for
I just changed my career 18 months ago. I understand how you feel. It wasn't until after I left the old job that I realized how depressed and bummed I had become so you are ahead of the game by realizing it now. I suggest you surf the employment web sites like www.monster.com and yahoo.jobs and do a search based on where you live and see what types of jobs are available. After you read a bunch of job descriptions you might start to find something that sounds more challenging. That's what I did. I used to run a cafeteria for a bunch of rich spoiled college kids and now I oversee contract compliance in several different countries. Good luck.
13 years with the railway, cleaner, shunter, guard, cleaner again, platform staff, stores clerk. My ex got pregnant and I decided I needed a new career without the shift work, so I took a job as a cleaner to get me by, and then took my current job working with the local authority, and love it ! ( My qualifications are non existant. just a few cse's)
Best advice I could give.. Find a job FIRST, then leave the old one, look for a new job offering training, and one that has the prospect of other moves once you have your feet under the table.
You need better skills!
