What advice could you give me?

am about to start an access to midwifery course at TVU.
what advice would you give me?
Also how did you go about getting to where you are now?(midwives)
Pros and cons of the industry?
I do go to a midwifery forum and try to get a feel for things there but was just wondering what you feel strongly about and what advice you'd give. what pitfalls should I try and avoid?

i am not a midwife or anything close but i think midwifery is a great career choie but lots of shouting. i wouldnt like it because you have to sewe people in pain.
