Take a crappy temp job, or wait for a good permanent job?
Answers:
I'm a temp right now. and I can vouch for ya. It sucks. Take the crap job now while you wait for the good job. Quit the second they hire you for the good one. And steal some pens.
take a part time job and keep searching
tell her to stick it.
Don't let those assholes dent your confidence, you need to do whatever you need to do to survive and keep your hand in, its a cliche but its easier to get a job from a job (proves that you are employable)
run the spell check when you turn in resumes.
if you need money, work the temp jobs but actively seek a full time position.
if it is a crappy temp job, can you make it clear to the employer that you are looking elsewhere for a full time gig?
good luck!
I think you should be waiting for the right job to come along, but in the mean time, try to find something that will give you some extra cash.
I always found it was erasier to get a new job when money was coming in. I don't know maybe you look less needy at the interview? Anyway, get some cash coming in by taking a temp job, and keep looking until you find where you are really happy.
Good luck.
Don't let it get to you. It is a really tough job market right now and lots of people are looking. My best advice is don't give up and keep a positive attitude whenever you can. Getting depressed only works against you.
In the mean time, if you want to make some money inbetween your job searches, you might want to try this. It won't replace a full time income, but it is a great site to make money on if you live in the USA (or Canada).
I have only found one legitimate work at home site so far, and I made $494+ in October. But it did take a bit of work initially--I added referrals--and the money got better. And I believe my earnings will continue to grow. I just recently had a best answer vote from a 15 y/o guy who made $50+ in just a couple of days.
I started by answering surveys on CashCrate and filling out some free offers and received a real check from them. For example, I signed up for E-bay and made a bid and got paid $8.00. And there are no fees to join. It is totally free. So I made a little my first month with them.

But once I found out this site was legit, I started adding referrals. For every person you refer, you get 20% of what they earn. And for every person that one of your referrals refer to CashCrate, you get 10%. It may take some time to build up the number of referrals necessary to make a lot of money, but in time--this could be a great source of income--making money while other people are in a sense, working for you.
And by the way--never join a work at home program that wants you to pay up front. If they were making that much money, they wouldn't need to charge you.
Note: There are not many offers on this site for users outside of the USA (there quite a few offers for Canadian users though). But if you are in another country, you could still refer users from the USA to CashCrate and make money on those referrals.
Perhaps you could do some voluntary work in the mean time. It always looks good on your cv. You won't get paid much, if at all, but it shows you are willing to put in effort whilst 'unemployed' or perhaps you could do some work from home?Try contacting lots of companies via the net, you never know, you may get lucky.
I think I would take a seasonal Christmas job to make ends meet. That way after Christmas you can move on and it will not look like you are changing jobs all the time.
go work in a charity shop keep what ya finds

Sometimes Temp services want to see what kind of worker you are, so they will give you a crappy job for a day or two to see how it goes. then they will see how you did and look for a good job. You are not the client, the company that they place you is the client. They just want to make sure you do a good job, so that thier client will come back to them.
Check out Kelley (sp?) services and also check out spherion, they are two really good services.
P.s. Im currently working temp until I get a better job. Im waiting to hear from a big company that the temp services work with but I need cash so im working a small job with little pay, but the big jos will pay three times what im making now. good luck
Sometimes temp jobs turn into full-time positions. Hang in there!
my advice is stick with the temporary jobs till after christmas.
at least you are doing somthing.
a new year and a new start.
many companies will not take on new staff now because of holiday pay and time off over christmas.
