Simple, you ain't trying hard enough to find another job! Surely another temp job would be better than the one you have.

Don't forget when you leave do something really horrible to leave your mark. When I left a particularly bad employer I reprogrammed the telephone system so that the incoming freephone line didn't ring an extension. God knows how much business they lost, but it made me feel better.
tell them to shove it!
have confidence in yourself and go get a good job for yourself mate
Seriously.. Quit!

No job is worth crying over.. period.

If you're miserable, then find something else to do. It's not good for your Psyche and those people are taking advantage of you.

YOu'll feel energized and better about everything as soon as you leave the place you're at now..
As a temp you are legally entitled to 20 days paid leave per year. If you are not given this the consultants you work for are in breach of employment regulations.
Temping is alright if you temp in a nice office. If you have at least 10 months experience why not get another temp job to fill in while you're waiting for permanent work.
Just approach other agencies.
Don't let consultants be rude to you. stick up for yourself and don't take any c***!

That's one of the problems with temping: no paid holidays or days off. Most temp companies have jobs that are temp to perm, so make sure your company knows that you are interested in that kind of job.
In the meantime, keep trying to find a permanent job, being very realistic about your financial needs. For example, you may make less at a perm job, but at least you will have days off, health coverage, etc.
I don't know where you live, but if the job market in your area is not very good, you may need to think about moving somewhere with more jobs.
Also, keep in mind that you can ALWAYS call the temp company and say you don't want to work at a certain job or company. You won't make money that day, but you will be happier if you don't have to put up with someone's crap. Temping is a lonely job, especially when you are moved around often. No one in the offices really ever talks to you, and you always have to learn new systems at each office. Just keep your head up and think about the future. When I look back on my miserable temping days, I am glad it's over, but it makes me appreciate the stability I have now. You can do it, just apply to jobs like crazy and do your best to get good assignments with your temp company.
You have a legal right to 20 days paid holiday per year, plus to be treated decently by your company. As a temporary employee you have exactly the same rights as a permanent employee and should receive the same benefits. Write to your HR Manager or whoever heads up the department you work for. Explain that you are very upset and the reasons why - this is called 'raising a grievance' and they have a legal duty to act on it.

If, however, you are employed by an agency, then you may have signed away your right to paid holidays, they may be rolled into your hourly rate. If this is the case, check with your consultant what the terms of your contract are and explain how unhappy you are. Then ask them to place you somewhere else instead.

If I were you, I would have a look at the information on ACAS's site (below) or talk to the CAB.

Good luck, there is nothing worse than feeling bullied and miserable at work.
If you are a temp then you must have an agent. Go and speak to them and they will make sure you get your entitelment. I don't know the law elsewhere but in the UK as a temp you are entitled to the same holidays as a permanent member of staff who has served for the same time as you.
If you got the job through an agency they should be responsible for your holiday (which you are entitled to). In the mean time try to find another temp job so that your self esteem is ruined by these horrible people!
Also speak to your agency (If your not joined up, find one) about the problems you are having. Although make sure that you dont put them off sending you for other interviews, so keep your complaint impersonal and professional
.
good luck
If this job is making you so unhappy you have to quit. Go to another temp office and explain your situation, The will probably have been waiting for somebody with your skills and experience. Good luck, Don't be put off If you don't get the ideal job immediately keep trying until you do.
