what are the daily tasks & duties of an office administrator or what role does someone working in the administration department play?

An Adminstrator is in charge of Admin Assistants. She makes sure all the admin assistants have work and deadlines to do. e.g. "here are a pile of invoices. I want those processed by Tuesday" In essence monitors the progress of all the ongoing work in an office. She makes sure that everything runs to time. If there are any snags, she takes responsibilty.
All systems include file system, the post system, the flow of work between different work stations. Which would include:
1 estimating
2 quotation
3 order processing
4 dispatch
5 invoicing
6 accounts
7 credit control
8 pay remittances
All these processes can be overseen by the office administrator.
Duties can vary from company to company, but it usually entails clerical work such as typing, filing, writing reports, etc. Sometimes "Administration Dept" can refer anyone in the office area - Billing, Collections, Purchasing, etc.
