I am currently working freelance. How do I declare tax and N.I? Where do I get forms from etc?

Answers:
go to inlandrevenue.go.uk and search for a form called CWF1 and print it out. this will register you self employed with the Revenue and also include the form to apply to pay class 2 NI via DD's. be aware that you have 3 months from the end of the month you started self employment to register else you face a £100 fine.

once registered, on the 6th april every year you will receive a tax return to be completed. best bet to get an accountant. I would expect to pay £300-£400 a year for doing your accounts and tax return. they will calculate your tax due and class 4 NI due on any profits if you make any.
'phone your local tax office, they will fall over themselves to help you. (really, no sarcasm).
if you go on the businesslink website ( www.bussinesslink.gov.uk ) it will give you a list of all the forms including their names and numbers that you need to fill in and where to get the from.

if you use the service to fill in the questionnaire about your business it will give you a list and all of the relevant contact details.

The inland revenue is also a good place to start.

Hope this helps.
contact your local tax office they will provide all the info you need.

The Post Office may be able to help to
The simplest way is tax.gov alternatively a good accountant.
If u r self employed u have 3 months to register your new business or your personal name at your local Inland Revenue Tax office situated in most cities in the UK, then they give you a tax reference number, at the end of each year you complete a self assessment form for tax (they send this to you and it's very easy to fill in) and return it your local Inland Revenue office, class 2 national insurance contributions can be paid by direct debit if you wish, save all your receipts, recordings of money coming in and going out as proof, you only pay VAT if your income is over 61k (i think)
Go your local tax office and they will give you all the advise you need.
As said go to business link or the inland rev who are now www.hmrc/gov.co.uk i think thats the web now - they will help you. You have to register as self employed which is simple or if you need more help look for a book keeper to help you sort it out (sorry im one of them)
